I don't believe the problem lies with the fact that all nations want to serve their best interests, because this is obvious. The US, however, imposes their interests on others, and this is simply too far. The US is not the king of the world, not the boss, not in any way special, so how can they expect to do such things without facing retaliation?
It is not at all obvious that the wants or behaviors of the governments or ruling classes of many nations is in those nations' best interests.norsefire said:

Ah,but in the case of the US - and possibly others - still further considerations are required: it is not obvious that the government of the US acts in its own best interest, in many signficant areas. There are other powers and interests involved, and the US government is occasionally put at their service more than its own.norsefire said:
