Tell Me Something I Don't Know

enzyme kinetics can be determined even when the substrate is not directly known. For example modulating substrate levels when you only know the total concentration not the amount of activated substrate.

this is why i asked for everyone to fully explain what they are talking about... for example, what are enzyme kinetics? what is a substrate? how does it relate to my life..? things like this would help to make it more interesting :)

The ancient Egyptians cleaned their teeth with urine.

Not really much I need to add to that, is there.

Probably pretty effective. Urea is a common ingredient in tooth whitening products, plus it's naturally virtually sterile (when fresh).

How this: you would be a pile of goo if it was not for "enzyme kinetics" and "substrates"

If the solar system were shrunk down to the size of your body, the sun being your head, pluto your feet, uranus would be right where you think it is.

Everyone on this board will, at some point in their forties, need bifocals or at least reading glasses. Later, if they live long enough, they'll all get cataracts which are actually as common as grey hair.

I need those allready and I'm 20 but I think I well get my eyes lasered before I'm 40

Shortly afther the big bang the universe expanded fasther then the speed of light promising it is at least possible to move fasther then light

I'm way older than 40 and still do not need reading glasses.

How much later? I'm pretty damn old and do not have them yet.:itold:

Interocular lens implant improvements will eventually withing the next few years be at the point were full adaptive vision can be restored after your "birth" lens has degraded and is best removed.

you think that demeaning insect gizmos are something to cry about, relative to body size of course, these are dicks their women are afraid of!

Are you near sighted and read without your glasses?

If you're over 60, I'd bet you whatever amount of money you like that you at least show early signs of cataracts.

If you're refering to bifocal IOL's, they already exist and actually work pretty damned well. Unfortunately, the bifocal implants are considered a luxory item and aren't covered by insurance. It will cost you an extra $4200 to upgrade your implants to bifocals when you have cataract surgery.

You're probably a latent hyperope, have convergence excess, or simply accomodative insufficiency.
Why in their forties ? My dad only started needing reading glasses in his early 50's..
Then either he didn't read very much, was a little bit near sighted, or was a one in a million exception to the rule. I often hear tales of these people who never needed glasses until they were seventy. But I've never examined anyone 50 years or older who didn't need bifocals.
