Support Fascism - Buy A Tesla

I want to see banners made of that slogan and placed in front of every Tesla dealer in the country. Do it now! Go!

Some of you folks may already own a Tesla. If you're a Musk fan, you'll probably be alright with supporting fascism, except when it comes back to bite you in the ass. If you're thinking of buying, don't do it. Don't let Musk profit.

Fascism is thriving in America as Tesla stock soars giving Musk a net worth of $350 Billion. Wtf is wrong with these people?

As the Moral Elite deserts the manufacturer, the apparent irony might be that GOPers and applicable independents -- as the barbarians or remaining potential Tesla buyers -- accordingly do not like EVs to begin with. But that situation may actually be unclear...

Is electric vehicle ownership partisan? (excerpt): "In nine of the 31 states and DC that register voters by party, for example, more Republicans voters are linked to records of electric vehicles – including insurance and repair records – than Democrats. Republicans, independents and third-party voters associated with electric vehicles also exceed Democrats in 24 of those states. This data contradicts the idea that electric vehicles are 'only popular with coastal elites and liberals,' said David Kieve, president of the Environmental Defense Fund Action. Recent polling has supported that idea as well."

The data suggests that more who vote Democratic cannot afford electrics. Even someone comfortably middle class like me has to contemplate some heavy lifting, budget-wise, to replace my fuel-miser Honda with an EV. This is driven (NPI) not only by prices of new vehicles and a shortage of the affordable bare-bones EVS, but also the dearth of used car options. Many don't sell their older EV until the batteries are degrading. And many of the older EVs have severe range limitations, requiring the buyer to retain their IC vehicle for out-of-town trips.

I do promise not to buy a Tesla, whenever I get the numbers to work (in Outer Nowhere, minimum 7 hours from the nearest EV market). It would be nice to see more EVs come on the market for the budget-minded. Affordable, and with intercity range. That seems to be the sweet spot that is difficult atm.

I think it's pretty clear. EVs are both new and environmentally beneficial compared to gas cars, and so conservatives oppose them publicly. But they also want the power, status and economy, so they buy them privately. No different than Trump praising veterans publicly, but taking money from their families when he needs money for his wall, and calling them "suckers" and "losers" privately.

Ironically Musk's involvement with Trump may cause EVs to become a cause celebre for conservatives, thus hastening their adoption among the people who publicly disdain them.

Yes, but the populist barbarians likewise have their own counterpart of such, that has fueled MAGA: the ignorant, bigoted poor and the less educated non-union working class. I mean, those segments of the population -- the noble proles who still vote Democrat, and the morally deficient redneck slash uncultured proles of the populists -- probably balance out on both sides when it comes to an inability to afford EVs.

Yes, that's the potentially real twist, in the end -- for the higher-up, traditional Republicans voters. But not necessarily a wider phenomenon IF many of the QAnon type mental level on the populist side are lagging in capacity to discern that it is now kosher to go EV and support Musk.

When you look up the word "Hypocrisy" in the dictionary, it shows Republican/Maga as excellent examples.

Fun story.

When Trump said he wanted to end EV subsidies, Musk agreed and said he did not want them. He said this to kiss Trump's ass of course - he has to agree to everything Trump says if he wants to maintain his privileges.

When Newsom announced that he would replace federal subsidies with state subsidies, he excluded Tesla since Musk said he did not want subsidies. Musk is now calling Newsom "insane" for not giving him the same subsidy he agreed was a waste of money.

Like he says,, "There ain't no one to blame other than the demand to keeping pumping it"

That's the rub. No one can stop demanding oil until things change. If you're of the mind that we should just keeping pumping oil out of the ground because you're a defeatist, then you're missing the point altogether.

And he is 100% correct.

No one can stop demanding oil until things people change. If you're of the mind that we should just keeping pumping oil out of the ground…
Nope.

Like I keep hinting at in a lot of my posts, but always manages to go over most everyone’s head, society is what we make of it. “The world is what we make of it” is more than just some bumper sticker slogan. It’s absolute truth that is non debatable.

Unfortunately, there are too many stupid people who can't/won't change because they're stupid. That will get worse as we allow stupid people to be elected to high office by the very same stupid people you refer, which is what just happened so we will see things get much worse until those stupid people are removed so that people with brains in their heads can govern and turn "things" around.

Do you have a solution for making stupid people not be stupid yet who wish to remain stupid?

Well, I can’t change people. That’s impossible. The only person I can change is myself. I’m not going to worry about “stupid” people, so my solution is to just enjoy life. I’m just here for the ride.

Blissful ignorance will only get you so far, that is, until those same stupid people in power affect your life such that you can't enjoy it. Perhaps then, you might tend to think that people can change.

We are starting to see people who regret buying Teslas now that Musk has shown his true colors. Yet, Wall Street says its a good thing that Musk is close to Trump, which made Tesla soar since the election.
