Share prices

Jumped up drifted down..my bet up tomorrow and drops off after lunch.
However some shares seem to be recovering slowly and the wild swings are much less. That retailer flat lines drops and comes back then flat lines jumps up and back and flat lines ..when I started watching 9 cents but gets up to 16 cents.

Are you daytrading?

Are you daytrading?
I was pretend trading. I have a very small parcel that up or down won't be sold but the swings made me think I could make money if I wasn't greedy.
I think I could if I had a large bank roll, which I don't, in these times when even blue chips are all over the place. I have a small amount of cash coming later in the year so I was thinking about having a go but thinking about things and how life is short will buy a better scope mount and camera. After selling my current gear with the cash later I should be able to get a 10 inch astrograph...
It's fun however trading with pretend money.

OK
17 march 2020 I started watching abbv(abbvie)
(I already owned some in a different account, and enjoy cashing those quarterly dividend checks)
I placed a low bid on the 18th and again on the 19th
then again on the 20th which closed at 63.01
ok, I missed the bottom by$.46
but, I was buying the dividend which, at that price was about 7 1/2 %(now 8%)
I may sell at $126.02
the stock seems to be running up in advance to the ex-dividend date of 01/14/2021

sooner or later, this market is going to crash(I'm already 20% cash from another sale---a restaurant company)
when???????????????????????????????????????????????????
when that happens--- ,if i sell abbv, I'll be over 60% cash in this account
and have to start watching
when will the crash happen, and will a change in administration tilt the markets toward different sectors?

I'd rather just ignore the stock markets
but
like a moth to a flame

Governments will enjoy the share market activity and particularly taxing the taking of profits when folk are selling due to fear.
Sell up and give all your money to the church and invest in the next life.

indulgences?
squeezing a camel through the eye of a needle

but then, if you are up 100% in nine months ....................................................
and
if you have a fish on the line
do you reel it in
or
leave it on the line hoping that an even bigger fish will see it as bait and give you a bigger catch?

sooner or later this market will crash
just when remains a mystery

Sell 75% if you can minimise tax on your profit that way after you give that money to the church you can say .."But I still have some cash in shares"..That way they will stay interested in saving your soul.
What's Warren doing..selling everything still?
Heck if I were you...fairdincum..I would sell up buy gold turn it into a sculpture cover it with concrete turn it into a water fountain in the lounge room....I think real things may be the go..baked beans in cans..Olive oil and don't forget toilet paper...or land in New Zealand ..good exchange rate magic places to live and the fall out from the war will stay mostly in the Northern hemisphere
