This was actually a very good movie. It surprised me. Good pick James.
I am going to see it this coming Friday most likely. I can't wait to see it.

I hated the Rocky movies... although I've never seen a single one.
There was a line from this movie played on NPR the other day. It actually was quite interesting. I don't recall the exact line, but it was Stallone mumbling to his son about how people were laughing at him and thought he was a joke. A stupid stereotyped has-been.
What is interesting about this is that Stallone is, in many ways, not speaking from Rocky's perspective at all, but from his own.
I'm sure he realizes just how people view him. He's not been a real action star for a large number of years. He's a stereotype. And a bad one.
He's also really, really short.
I think that to save this movie, Rocky should lose. Give up the hackneyed tripe 'pull it off at the last minute' sappy ending.
Make him lose.
Make this movie a true lesson in the Absurd.

That's probably why it was given awards and stuff.
It was the sequels that sold out.
The sequels are actually an excellent overall development of the Rocky character. The only bad one was 5. I am glad that Stallone has rectified the end of the series through making what is being hailed as an excellent edition to the film series.

I'd say this final Rocky is about as good as the first. The thing is it seemed to be geared more towards the elderly than others.

Having seen this film, I must conclude but one thing: Stallone has proved himself to be America's finest screen writer and one of her finest directors alive. Not to mention his first-class acting job (and yes, I contend Stallone is a seriously excellent actor).

Yeah, I can see why you like it.
Stallone is so cliche and rehearsed it would be embarrassing to sit through yet another tired rerun of this senior citizen's fantasy of being a boxer. All the previous Rocky films sucked so why would this one not suck? Everybody has their opinion but the phony accent and special needs student grunting & grimacing are enough to make me puke. It came in 6th at the box office so Stallone STILL ain't got what it takes!
