I think that the fact that the thread was closed recently (after having been open for a year) says a lot. No one had a problem with that thread before a few people hijacked it.:shrug:

There is already an artwork thread in arts and culture, I suppose we could just submit our art in there and not tell people who it is supposed to be, we could have fun guessing.

I feel slightly guilty for the closure (possibly). Maybe I am wrong about it but I only posted one pic in that thread (james Rs head on a muscle man body, nothing offensive) and it seemed to be one of the only pics directly concerning him and then he closes the thread. I hope it was some other reason it closed since taking offence over that is scary (I have pasted my own face over much worse images).
He deleted the post that made him close it, and a few others.

The pic of him off sciforums I skillfully placed over a muscle man has been deleted, damn that took me 3 minutes to make!
What is all the fussing here lately I notice it a lot. It seems every new board I join (usually seek new forum because of over zealous mods on other places I post) has something going on like this. It seems like people can't take a joke any more. I have seen terrible things said to me and I think they are funny, like wise people said terrible things about my wife because she posts on the same sites. In fact it is usually me who says the most inappropriate offensive things about myself and my family. WTF people just need to lighten up and stop all the over serious power trip shit. Relax, it's just a message board.

Oh Invert I looked and can't find it and deleted off my HDD unfortunatley so I made you this
if anyone doubts your mod abilities just doctor it some more to make it look real (best I could do being drunk and orig pic wasn't fitting angle wise) and say I know your IPa and can find you sucka and threaten to pound them. Testosterone fueled muscle men scare everyone.
Edit:reversed the image, brain.....very......slow....too...much.....alcohol

Off topic discussion can be introduced into a thread in a manner such as Inzomnia has just demonstrated. See how she has on topic discussion in her post with a little off topic to balance it out? This is acceptable in small doses.
Although, the saccharine sweetness of Inzomnia's off-topic ramblings are often nauseating.

And, by the way, about that thread, please don't turn it into a "let's post a million and one pictures in an hour" thread. Take it easy, you got plenty of time to post. Stop and think a bit before spilling your guts all over the forums.
Tuxpaint is better, much better. I just wish I never got rid of my compy with linux on it. The hardware itself was simply outdated.

I did not close the thread because I was personally offended. Please see the last post in the thread for the reason why I closed it; I was very clear.
Regarding the picture mentioned, I did consider it inappropriate, and I took personal exception to it. You will notice that I did not delete pictures that named me and drew (supposed) caricatures of me. What I did delete was a doctored photograph that included my face. I did not give permission for the photo (that I uploaded and that I hold copyright over) to be used in that way.
Moreover, as I explicitly said in the thread in question, I would delete any image that the subject found offensive. There is no reason I should not share the same rights in that regard as any other member of sciforums. Being an administrator does not mean I am fair game for personal insults, any more than any other member here.
People complain about double standards, but when the same standard is applied to moderators as to other members, suddenly some people get all narky. Think about it.
