1.)WHAT OR WHO IS A MODERATOR?

2.)WHEN WAS THE SCIENCE FORUM STARTED?

1) Moderators are regular users who have been appointed special privileges within particular forums. They have all the access rights of the administrator in their forums. In addition they act to help guide, direct, and stimulate discussion.

2) This site has been around since April/May, though it builds of a community that existed before for a few years.
 
april/may of 2000 right?

That means I'm one of the 'second generation' sciforumers. I registered then.
 
No, I meant April/May 2001. Before that, it was exosci which had different software, different forums, and was substantially smaller.

May have a problem: can't reset to 'all forums read'

Interesting bit: signed off, hit 'mark all forums read', wallah!

Signed back in, all markers still there!
