Putin's invasion of Ukraine

Wel, he does get his information from anti-Semites↗, propagandists↑ and conspiracy theorists↑, after all.
Good article on the power of Russian trolls below. Relevant quote:

"This is also a full-spectrum information war, and what happens in a Russian 'all-of-society' war, you soften up the enemy. You get the Tucker Carlsons and Donald Trumps doing your job for you. The fact that Putin managed to persuade Trump that Ukraine belongs to Russia, and that Trump would be willing to give up Ukraine without any kind of fight, that’s a major success for Putin’s information war. I mean he has got swathes of the Republican Party — and not just them, some on the left, as well as on the right — masses of the U.S. public saying, 'Good on you, Vladimir Putin,' or blaming NATO, or blaming the U.S. for this outcome. This is exactly what a Russian information war and psychological operation is geared towards. He’s been carefully seeding this terrain as well. We’ve been at war, for a very long time. I’ve been saying this for years."

Putin will be in trouble if Russia cannot take control of Kyiv and overthrow Ukraine government.

Putin is in big trouble whether he succeeds in Ukraine or not...I am surprised that the master strategist has made such an incredible and costly blunder.

I agree but we are all (potentially) in trouble as long as there are any single person who can start a nuclear war. People are crazy sometimes and don't care who they take with them.

Sociopaths , Psychopaths .

Ego , tradition , combination of both , by one man , by any one person , that leads to war , is devoid of Conscious obvious consequences of death . On both sides .

Wouldn't it be better to see the Good Side of Russians . I think so . Just good people , without the cloak of oppression .

Putin will destroy himself . By ego and tradition .

Ukraine , I Really Hope You Win . I would not want to live in a country run by putin or his like at all .

A 40 mile long convoy virtually at a stand still in the middle of Winter (average 0 deg C) must be a joke or false news or something surely. Imagine all those soldiers and staff huddled in their trucks....
Insanity to start a large military campaign during a Ukraine Winter.

Putin has burnt most of, if not all, his bridges. I.e. he no longer appears to have any option for a face-saving exit. As such, he will strive all the harder to achieve his aims, which will probably mean more fierce fighting, more indiscriminate attacks, greater loss of life on all sides, until his aim is achieved.

If this is the case, he almost certainly will, unfortunately, take control of Kyiv and overthrow the government. But, as has been stated, he's already in trouble, not that he himself would probably care. Alas, it is the general population of Russia that will suffer the most from that trouble, not those with vast fortunes on which to rely.

I don't think it's unmanageable for them. They are, or should be, quite used to the conditions, as a Russian winter isn't exactly toasty. ;) Or maybe winter has imposed sanctions on Russia as well, and won't deal with them inside their border! :D

lol..
One would think that launching such a campaign in any season other than Winter would make much more sense. It leaves one to wonder what was the true nature of the problem that Putin was/is trying to solve and why it was so urgent given the significant extra cost of a Winter campaign. Seems similar to Nazi Germany's folly in WW2.

imho
Starting a war or a fight is insane
and as time progresses, it just gets crazier and crazier
that being "said"

No one, not in the convoy, knows why the convoy stopped where it did when it did
some in the msm seem to have forgotten: "It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."
so, we get wild speculation
---from--"cheep chinese tires, to mechanical breakdowns, to out of gas
the common theme of which seems to be denigrating the capabilities of the russian military

maybe
there is a different,(perhaps accurate) reason
12 score years ago, it was said to be folly to face the british army in the open field
and now
the russian army has the advantage in the open field
an advantage that they would lose in urban warfare.
tactics or strategy?
maybe the convoy is waiting--hoping that the Ukrainians will get impatient and confused and start issuing conflicting orders furthering the confusion and then come out to fight
???
Whatever.............
When the convoy starts moving
things should get real interesting real fast

Putin may be struggling with several problems.

First, he is not a military strategist, he is an assassin. Military tactics are complicated.
Second, there may be a real hesitancy on the part of military commanders to commit war crimes
Third, apparently, his oligarchy is crumbling. I heard that one disappointed billionaire has placed a million dollar bounty on Putin's head.

The $1m bounty was put up by Alex Konanykhin, a millionaire entrepreneur based in California. He moved to the US in the mid-90s and has not been back since, although he remains a Russian citizen. Nothing to do with Putin's inner-circle, or the oligarchy, and if anything is deemed a troublemaker in Russia, likely to be arrested should he return.

Hey, I'm not prejudiced. I'd shake his hand if I met him.
I am not in Trump's inner circle, but if I were a millionaire I'd put a million dollar bounty on his head.

May be, may be, may be, may be. . .
Sounds like you're wetting your pants with excitement.
c'mon man
a 3 day pause of hundreds of military vehicles for unknown reasons builds the anticipation...........

What do you think is gonna happen once they start moving again?
and
Why do you think that they paused?
