Our chance to take over the world.

I think I shall put my 2¢ in here. I have no desire to "take over Canada", and think that it would be really stupid of the US government to think of such. I have no axe to grind against Canadians. The few I have known personally were very responsible and as good as anyone you would care to meet. Nay I can not say that; more accurately would be to say you would have to go a long ways to find better people. I realize that this is generalization, as always the nature of people will mean that there will always be those who would be considered coarse, rude, and just straight out assholes. It has nothing to do with nationality but rather with people and their natures’. I think it good to be patriotic and that also has nothing to do with any one country but rather support your native country or leave to somewhere else that you can. It seems that I remember that the Canadians were at the same war fronts that the Americans were during the World Wars. Because they believed in the same values and thought them worth fighting for.

Gentlemen, discussion and argument is one thing, calling names and getting upset is not called for, from either side. Our people think enough alike in what matters for the issues to be rather small. The Canadians have suffered their share of grief and the US is no different in that respect. It seems childish to continue in such train of thought and expression.
 
I suggested an armistace if you will in an earlier post, one that Daaarksyde never acknowledged. Now that this post has so radically departed from its original intent, I am unscribing now.
 
I think there is one other note I would make here. I do not think it would be in the best interests of the US to take over the world. The world is to large to be easily governed and it would be both a major headache to administer and quite likely to be the downfall of the US. (Spread to thin to be effective) Much the same happened to the Romans. They grew to large to effectively manage the area they controlled.

Immediately after the Second World War, the United States and Britian could have split the world in two FOREVER.

Lets look back at the period of May-August of 1945.

Germany has been defeated, and the USSR has lost 20 million people in the war. France has just been liberated, and has no military. Japan was defeated, and we began to occuply Japan proper and Eastern Asia. Europe was completely held by the US and UK.

The United States was relitivley untouched by the war, the homeland hadn't been touched by the enemie, and we lost a fairly low number of men. There was a massive industrial complex still pumping out war materials.

The USSR was very, very weak. The only country standing in the way of world domination. We could have taken on the Red Army, with many tanks, and a full continent behind us. The Russians would have been broke eventually. Plus the ace up our sleeve was that in '45 we had the bomb.

I am convinced that if not for the strong civilian leadership present in the US, not in the USSR we never took over the world. It could have been done, and the globe would have been ours by 1950.

At the most fruitful point of imperialism, we resisted. Quite amazing if you think about it.

Right now, the whole world could be living the good life, just like all Americans, and there wouldn't be so many people sneaking into America and crowding out the rest of us! The rest of the world could be just like US !

Hey hold up, you need to recognise that noone is without fault, im not american so i dont speak for them but i would think most normal everyday americans are like anyone else on the face of this planet, just want to get on with there lives as best they can.

You americans and canadians are always pulling each other down but you are the same country, give it a rest and dont forget there are other countrys in this world not just yours,England infact we might be small but we can kick ass aswell,infact there should only be one NWO and that should be the whole world.:mad:
