No. Although they are often later formed into a composite with various kinds of resin.
Are you sure we are talking the same nanotube fibers ? In the CVD process they spin the fibers straight from the reaction chamber .

Yeah? So what. I think there's a process where they draw it over a roller just to seat everything down. It's not a strong fiber all by itself, the yarn is rather flimsy. It's a feature of the molecule that it sticks to things readily.
