My son at 14 wants to be a marine and kill Osamas in the desert

You seriously don't think there are people who profit from wars; that there are people who gladly await war-making, for it fills their wallets?

My husband makes parts for teh computers on Hummers that the military uses. Hell yeah there are people that profit from wars. He got a $6000 raise this past year

what does that have to do with this guys son?

That is feeding the machine. You don't think that's wrong? You must be just another enemy of the working man.

LOL, and I'll say it again. You are really a funny guy.:D

I work, my husband works, so I think that qualifies us as 'the working man". I care more about feeding my kids than the machine

Do you work?

If my son wants to join, I have no problem with it. (I'd be STRONGLY against teh army and marines though) I grew up military and my brother is military.
I would only be bothered if someone joined so that they could kill, which I think is the point of this thread

Joining is honorable, for the common soldier isn't the one giving orders. But the ones at the top, and the politicians, and the banking interests are all greedily awaiting war. That's why we ought to avoid it; there are those who profit from it.

We have a sickle; it's really hard to weed with that thing. The scythes aren't fun either.
My thumb's finally finished growing the dead spot out from where I whacked my nail with a hammer...
