Also worth noting that the New Testament has calls for death as punishment:
Disobedience of a Slave (Ephesians 6:5).
Speaking in church (1 Corinthians 14:34–35).
Homosexual intercourse between women (Romans 1:26).
Homosexual intercourse between men (Romans 1:27).
Guess we're all gonna be killed, since I doubt we've all been silent in church...
That's funny. You must have a very different translation from my Jerusalem bible. There is no mention of death as punishment in any of these passages in my version. In fact punishment - of any sort - is not mentioned at all in the first two and the only punishment mentioned in the last two is abandonment by God. Nothing about death at all, let alone death meted out by men to other men.
What version are you referring to?
