Nominations are now open for the position of Moderator of the General Science and Technology subforum.

If you are interested, please nominate yourself. Only self-nominations will be considered valid. Nominations will close on 17 September. Following that, a voting thread with a multiple-choice poll will be opened to elect a moderator.

I see wet1 is really not coming back then....he is being replaced completely. :(

How about art & culture forum?...no offense to congrats but he is never here. He shows up about once or twice a year.

I nominate.........................drum role, please..................

sargentlard

He an avid follower of wet!!!!!!!!!1's posts and moderating. He is generally very good natured & kind to just about everyone here. I have read many posts where he was helpful & knowledgeable.

I think that he would moderate the forum quite well.

Oh well, I just read that you can't nominate others.

Why the heck not?

sargentlard, you should nominate yourself.

(couhgt) self-nominations please. sargentlard I belive no longer wants to run for moderator as he and others here have seen the light on what a thankless, hate filled job it is.

on the subject of voting, one of my dumbass friends has decided he is going to make several accounts and vote for me, so be wary if 100 votes magically appear.

i doubt he will get round to it but i dont want to mess up the democracy

Warning to all to who no longer wish to run to retract you nominations here rather then in the election thread! If you wish no long to run during the elections your retraction may not be received and you will remain on the poll. (sargentlard example) people who voted for you will lose their vote in this election and will not be able to switch votes.

Another note to want to be moderators. Moderation actually means responsibility and therefore means that a poster has to start taking life in these forums (as apposed to real life) seriously.

Some people might see this change as some form of power trip however the reality is that at least some of the moderators see themselves as having to be examples on the forums, and this has been proven by how moderator conduct has been brought into the limelight on more than one occasion.

So I would suggest if you are not serious about posting, or the implications of being an example then do not nominate yourself.

"(couhgt)"? Actually, I think it's spelled "cough." And since you are again criticising me, you should have looked right beneath my first post where I acknowledged only self nominations. Now I suppose your going to tell me that I need evidence of this?

How was a criticizing you?

by the way its criticizing not “criticising”, yes we all make spelling, typing and grammatical errors, I don’t see why you need to point them out.

By the way this is definitely not the place to argue about me.
