I took up the issue with James R (PM) about the correctness of certain basic science / Maths issues as brazenly raised by a particluar member...but this can be extended in general.
James, justifiably, stated that expertise on the vast subjects of forums cannot be expected from them, but surely Mods can intervene on basic issues and can seek involvement of some other members, there are a few good one around. But such proactive actions are not taken.
Take for example, this Paddoboy gaffe on volume-diamater, when he stated the same in OP, I also did not bother and assumed that it is radius (some thought it was diameter, fair enough), but his subsequent song and dance unequivocally proves that he is not at all conversant with what this basic geometry aspect of volume-diameter of the sphere about.
Take a look what he says at the end, it is volume not diameter....
The man tells me that my maths of value of surface area and volume of a sphere of radius 2.95 Kms is plagiarised and incorrect...he brazenly continues that if radius is 2.95 Kms then diameter is approximately 5, not 6. He sunk with this and quoted post and took Dwdyddr with him, who vociferously tried to salvage him.
James, I agree that guys here may not have expertise, Mods also cannot be expected to know everything...but your (Mods) role must extend beyond controlling the unruly behaviour, science forums call for some kind of technical exactness. If you take my opinion the entire BH tutorial thread must be consigned to cesspool (it is factually incorrect on many points) or atleast there should be a disclaimer by you, that opinion is that of OP only and the Board does not vouch for the veracity or correctness of the contents. Note, the heading of the thread...Tutorial on BH......the damage it can cause.
Finally, DMOE, you were right on the issue, that Paddoboy is not conversant about cubic Kms as the unit of volume, there is no doubt about it, but James was also right...because despite your being right on the point, the thread was nothing but Trolling....Hope James will ask Paddoboy to stop his trolling on me and to respond on this as well as many issues raised by me about his tutorial. Tutorial on a science forum must be vetted.

Your maths has been questioned and shown to be in error in the past, so I'll just stick with my thought experiment of squeezing the Sun into a 5km volume [please note: volume not Schwarzchild radius]
The rest is simply pretentious word salad that you obviously plagiarised from somewhere.
