Then Republicans need to delay the vote in order to get something more than that. An FBI investigation for one thing. Instead, Republicans WANT "just an allegation". So they can dismiss it and get their pick.

I'm sorry, but people who lie under oath and has probably committed sexual assault, usually do not tend to be "competent" judges.
Kavanaugh is Trump's lackey and for good reason. He needs someone on the Supreme Court that's in his corner and his alone. Which also speaks nothing in regards to competency.

Instead, the GOP are going to have to contend with a panel of white men, going after a woman who was sexually assaulted by a white male the GOP are trying to promote to the Supreme Court.. It won't be Kavanaugh who is going to 'hang'. Nor will it be the victim.
Why do you think the GOP are resorting to such ridiculous tactics, such as not informing her first of the hearing? She's called their bluff by declaring she would testify. Now they are trying to find every way possible to ensure she does not testify.

Might be all the death threats she is getting. Or the smear attack launched by the right wing. If so, it's working.
Telling women "don't speak a word of this to anyone if you know what's good for you" has a long history, unfortunately.

Her lawyer wrote a letter to Chuck Grassley explaining why it would be difficult for Ford to testify, saying she "has been the target of vicious harassment and even death threats."

You left out most of the key players, including what they want and where they stand. Your link likewise skipped that part, choosing instead to take public statements at face value regardless of accuracy or plausibility (Grassley, in particular, was simply lying when he claimed to be following the timeline of the Anita Hill inquiry - the prompt FBI investigation that was routinely launched then is not even scheduled yet.)
I'd ask Ms Ford, or Ms Penny, or Ms Clinton, or any of the dozens of other women who were similarly threatened in well known and thoroughly vetted publicly reported circumstances, how they were delivered, and use one of those proven techniques.
The "complexities" of behavior of the guys who make death threats against women who have offended them somehow are not nearly as mysterious and unknown as the behavior of termites.

If you had the resources you could do it, of course, and at least find the original phone #. But as it stands now you probably couldn't. Nor could she.
If it happened to you you'd probably demand an investigation - which, BTW, is exactly what she has done.
What details would you like? The names of the people who she talked to about the assault? The details in the book that Mark Judge - the other person in the room - wrote? Details about what's in his yearbook? Details about the death threats? Details about her and her family - their address, their phone numbers, their schools?
I have a feeling those right wing news sources you prefer aren't talking about any of that. Why not try to get a better view on what's happening?
(Well, actually I bet the right wing sites you like are carrying the details of her address, phone #'s and schools - she was doxxed by a right winger, so they're probably all over that.)

I do suspect that the nsa/fbi/etc... could find out more than the simple claims.(including the sources of the threats)
