В основном я пишу на английском только для этого английского сеньора. Потому что у него древний комп, как я понимаю, и в нём нет переводчика. У остальных переводчик есть, и никаких проблем с переводом у них нет. Хотя, гугл переводчик, конечно, ужасен по сравнению с Яндексом. У меня тексты переводятся автоматически с любого языка. Я даже не заморачиваюсь с определением того, какого именно.

Absolutely. They do require one foreigh language in US schools, generally. I took French and later German, and Spanish was also offered. I stayed a summer in France when I was 16, so the French was useful. Some schools do offer Russian as independent study, and I studied a little bit of Russian in high school - there was some Russian blood on my father's side of the family. I still read Cyrillic but have forgotten most of the little vocabulary I had. Grustnyy ...

Living in Texas, I found Spanish to be the most useful second language to learn. I still hear Spanish spoken every day. Russian wasn't an option and wouldn't have been useful.
