Regarding "other perspectives", river, I think you need to learn, at some point, that not all "perspectives" are equally valuable. Some "perspectives" involve people believing things that are demonstrably wrong, or maybe just not demonstrated. Other "perspectives" have been proven to be based on established facts.
There is also this thing called education. Chances are that a physicist is going to have a more informed "perspective" on, say, what causes gravity, than your average greengrocer who hasn't got himself a degree in physics. Education is important if you want to talk knowledably about anything.
Regarding locked threads: most threads on this forum are not locked. The ones that are locked were locked for a reason. If you want to find the reason, read the last post in the locked thread. There, a moderator will usually have given the reason.
Finally, random musings from those who are uneducated about the subjects they are musing about are unlikely to "contribute" anything of earth-shattering importance, usually.
What is "not in Russia"?Just not in Russia, James.
I don't see what that has to do with anything James said. Here, physicists and others with a degree can work as anyone, even as floor cleaners, to feed themselves and their families. Because the salary of an unskilled worker is often higher than the salary of a research fellow.
Джеймс сказал, что продавцы овощей не могут так же хорошо разбираться в науке, как и действующие научные сотрудники. А у нас можно встретить людей с хорошим образованием где угодно, и среди продавцов овощей тоже.Just what not in Russia?
I don't see what that has to do with anything James said.
James is criticizing river for not being educated enough to form coherent opinions on science matters.
You are talking about people who are well educated but can't get jobs or make money from it.
How does your comment relate to James'?
No he didn't.James said that vegetable sellers cannot be as well versed in science as active scientists.
