I prefer not to use it, since I think we are mostly adults here. I had to start using it because mods advised me to report after I received several warnings for responding to flamers and stalkers. Apparently the ones who flamed me also reported me for responding and since I did not report them for flaming and mods do not read beyond the reported post, I was considered the offender.

Since I did not know who would report me for what [as there is no clear cut rule for what is offensive] I began to report people in a manner consistent with previous warnings

After a few days, I received a warning for reporting. Since I would get warned regardless of the fact that I reported or responded, I quit reporting.

Didn't seem to be any point.

Overall I think I used the report button maybe ten times. Off and on I have reported some very slanderous posts directed against others, viz Lori and sandy but since they too seemed to receive no follow up, I quit that too.

So maybe between 10 and 20?

I used to report the shoe spammer, but I started to quite like his posts.

I would report anyone who could get into legal trouble for their posts.
Or someone of possibly harmful intent who needed watching. Just to prevent trouble for the site really.

I once reported someone for threatening to kill me.

I wouldn't report anyone for annoying me.
I just ignore them.
 
Never used it. Never considered using it. People say things all the time but all of us at one time or another has failed to convey a message in the context we desired. As a result things get misconstrued, it's just an accepted part of posting for me. I believe in giving the benefit of the doubt.
 
I really don't use it for if I have a problem with someone I just use the "ignore" button .
 
I use it for spam and for when i think violations of rules are to ergregious to be left to chance to bring to a mod.
 
I chose the about ten times option, though I think it is in single figures. I've used it to report individuals who refuse to follow a logical line of argument, consistently and blatantly. I don't think it's ever done a blind bit of good.

I only used it a small number of times. Under 5 for sure. I reported someone a long time ago, they're not around anymore. And I think I reported Baron Max a few years ago, don't remember why. And I actually regret doing so because I now like the guy. lol
 
I suppose about 10 times. It could be a bit more. spammers and moutainhare, angrybellsprout, mikenostic, etc
