Hairless Bodies

Light Travelling:

It was due to: 1. The heat. 2. Sexual purposes.

The Egyptians were a very sensual people. Even men would wear makeup. It is also notable that ancient Egyptian has no word for "virgin".

Egyptians – hot in every sense of the word then.

Same reason we wear jewelry, perfume ourselves, cut and style our hair, wear makeup, high heels, tight fitting clothes, expensive lingerie, etc.

Is that much of our lives really taken up with sexually motivated behaviour (whether conscious or unconscious), or do people do these things just because they feel they are supposed to …... because society expects it?

Isn't that the goal of the species? Reproduction?

Isn't that the goal of the species? Reproduction?

Of the species, yes. Of the individual, I am not so sure. Of course we are influenced greatly by reproductive genes and hormones, but there seems to be more than that to us humans.

Do post menopausal women still shave their legs? yes... why?
Do post menopausal women still enjoy sex? yes... why?
Back to Egyptians agian - did eunuchs just give up the will to live... no

Throughout history nuns, monks and even academics have dedicated their lives to other things than reproduction.

It cant be just about reproduction can it.

It cant be just about reproduction can it.

It's about mating! And oddly enough, mating usually leads to reproduction.

In every animal, the instinctive drive to mate is one of the strongest of all drives. To think that humans don't have that drive to mate is both silly, and is ignorant at the same time.

If females perceived that men like women with purple hair, women would begin to dye their hair purple! How can you not see that?

But what are the psychological reasons;
Is it a sub conscious psychological move away from our animal past? are we becoming less hairy as we evolve and we seek to speed that process up.

Is it just a fashion? Are people just following celebrity / magazine images and doing what they feel they should? If so in 30 years will fashions change and everyone will want to proudly display their body hair again? (I hope not)
I think it's a matter of the fashion world imposing their desiderata on us. Especially for the requirement of hairless bodies on men, which is because the vast majority of men in the fashion industry are gay, and want men to conform to the (or a) gay ideal of masculinity, instead of a female ideal of masculinity.

As for myself, I have no hair below the neck, but find men who shave their body hair despicably ridiculous. You may find it hypocritical but I've never had a problem holding men and women to different standards.

Anyway, I want my men to be MEN, not metrosexuals who make appointments with beauticians and pluck their nipples.

Some men are just too hairy, they have it on their backs, their shoulders, their sides, up their noses, in their ears...just too much!

Athletic men prefer to wax to show off their toned physiques and in that case I think they look cool, but a man who is out of shape and is also waxed, just looks pathetic.

Personally, since my chest hair has turned white, I prefer to trim most of it off, which makes for a younger looking body and also matches my bald shaved head. My shaved crotch and balls are purely a sensual thing and make me feel like a porn stud.

Get real. When you are kissing your beloved from head to toe, do you actually enjoy getting HAIR in your mouth?
As a matter of fact, that's part of the experience. I too am perplexed and alienated by this bizarre trend. I've never seen one of these plucked chickens live but the occasional photographs really turn me off.

How do you feel about men with beards? or do you expect a certain level of grooming from men?

OK , but how would it make you feel if you did have hair below your neck. Would it make you feel un attractive or wouldn't it bother you at all?

I mean do you remove hair to attract the opposite sex or do you do it for yourself i.e. because it make you feel good.

Very well done I can't stand this metrosexual culture either! Men are men, OK clean is good but if any men I know started filing their nails or waxing their chests or wearing makeup for men, i would think they were on the turn :bugeye: Men are supposed to be tough and not want to be all dolled up as much as possible. I saw a lad in a concert wipe sweat/grease off his face with that cosmetic grease proof paper!! it is not attractive, what was wrong with just the back of his hand!

Every1 is getting prettier, but MEN, are not supposed to be pretty!!

I feel naughty, this is something directly releative to myself. I recently shaved my lower area and my arm pits, something about it just feels cool, ya walk around nobody really knowing LOL

PS Woman are sexy hairless, except for head... me wanna bang'm

Indian women use various tools including turmeric paste to remove body hair. My one son who is in to body building shaves his body hair. For some reason I lost my body hair in the last ten years (doctor thinks alopecia) which my son wants....

Women are not sexy hairless. The vagina area without any hair! Bald!! Surely it looks just like a little girls?

The less hair the better.

coolies:

Yes, they are. And apparently that's why the vast majority of men like clean shaven pubic areas on women. They also seem to like playing babydoll dressup with their women and being called "daddy"... Hmmmm....

Psychologically, girls are aesthetically more beautiful without hair on their bodies, except for on their head. The natural curves in women are also more aesthetically pleasing to the eye than the straight features found on men. Some women like hairy guys, others don't, still most could care less either way and don't view this as being important.

In terms of evolution, I think the major view is that humans lost their fur after the last major ice age because of the need to cool themselves by perspiring in the heat - the "out-of-Africa" theory. Putting on clothes instead of remaining in the buff might've accelerated the process.

Well we were human by the time we moved out of Africa so we would have been hairless in Africa and Europe. The only people in the world that run around in the buff are naturists, even pigmy tribes and African tribes wear some sort of clothes.

I never actually did think of the hairless women=paeodphilia link but from what has been said here there does seem to be 1, its distressing. There is some sort of strange cross over where men want no hair like a little girl but breasts and curves like a real woman.

And as to women curves are more pleasing to the eye than angular features of a man, u are talking from a mans point of view lovey. I certainly enjoy the triangular back shape of a well toned man. oooh back and shoulders.

I like hairy chests and bellies on men.

I think it was more down to the Ancient Roman Empire considering Romans installed Baths throughout. In those baths they didn't just wash but were also groomed, notibly one particular method involved having oil rubbed all over the body which was then removed with a copper razor. This removed the impurities from people pores while also dealing with body hair.

Further back in history still there was the Greek Spartan warriors that used to bath and often be seen nude before battles which I believe too also use to remove body hair.

Didn't both these cultures have strong homosexual traditions?

I know that it was common for ancient Greek men to be married and have children and relations with their wives , but to also have hedonistic sexual relations with young male friends as well.

I am not so sure about Romans but believe bi-sexuality was also practised by the decadent upper classes.... the same classes that would be presumably bathing and shaving body hair?

Is there a link between the level of homosexuality in a society and the level of body hair removal?
