I started out being an artist when I was a mere puppy. Back in the early 1960's I went all psychedelic in my paintings, using lots of bright colours and milking opponent channels with patterns of bright opposite colours. One of my favourites was uranic orange. When it ran out I tried to get some more, only to find it had been banned as toxic... :( Now it is cadmium or some new-fangled synthetic.

My avi has more hair than I do. :D I can't wait to light up bulbs in my mouth too!

But cadmium is pretty toxic , too.

Uh, yeah, I know, not as radioactive though. So is a bunch of the other stuff I still use. I cut and polish actinolites (among other stones) so there is the powder to be dealt with. Considering the amount of radiation I have had (and may yet get) and that I am back on chemo for my little inconvenience, I figure wearing rubber gloves and being careful is as good as it is gonna get for me. Not to mention the many and various solvents I use.

I think the original question was more-or-less answered back in 2004. Perhaps start a new thread if you want to take this discussion in a different direction.
