Fellow believers. You say you are saved and non-believers go to hell. Well, ----

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmwqnqL3Hbg

You tell those who do not believe as you do, that because of their non-beliefs, that they are damned to a fate inferior to yours. Hell in fact.

That belief has made believers, non-believers and those of other religions war against each other for all of this time.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3yJomUhs0g

I think we should bury the hatchet, soonest.

If the religious system believers like you preached is superior, all you would need do to win world support is have your side walk its talk. You and your friends are not making that effort and we can all see that you are not superior in any way. If you did and showed your worth, our collectively seeing the benefits would give your religion, all the Abrahamic cults that is, the oneness it craves.

Showing your effectiveness is all you need do to silence the non-believers and massively win them over. You have not done so and Secularism is now firmly entrenched in the world.

The Abrahamic cults know that to follow Jesus is impossible so they work to enrich themselves and do not even attempt to end poverty. Jesus’ mission. Everyone sees this and I have to wonder if the old perverts infesting church hierarchies are worth our resources.

Secularism on the other hand has taken 1 billion souls out of poverty in the last twenty years and forecasts another billion souls being raised in the next twenty years, ---- in spite of the wasted resources of rich religions and various warring political and religious factions.

Myths and fairy tales like the one above are only good if we take the good and recognize why it is good. Judge not is given to indicate that to judge is to put yourself above God.

When you and other believers, me included, say that we are saved and others are not, --- we are putting our judgement into God’s mouth. Shame on us.

To those who speak for God, a God demonstrably based on a myth, I say, regardless of what you call yourself, we are all named in this quote.

See it? See your label?

"First they came for the Jews, but I did nothing because I'm not a Jew. Then they came for the socialists, but I did nothing because I'm not a socialist. Then they came for the Catholics, but I did nothing because I'm not a Catholic. Finally, they came for me, but by then there was no one left to help me." – Pastor Father Niemoller (1946)”

I think the various religions should bury the hatchet. Don't you?

GIA, You state: - quote "To those who speak for God, a God demonstrably based on a myth, I say,
regardless of what you call yourself, we are all named in this quote." - unquote

Seems you are talking to "those" people...speaking for a "mythical God"..."regardless of what you call yourself" - then you say "we are all named"" !?!

So... is it only "those" people that are named - or is your use of the word "we" (which would seem to include yourself) mean that you are also speaking for a "mythical God", and hence also named in the quote?

I ask, because nowhere in the quote do I see it stated that "then they came for the Gnostics" - so how would your use of the word "we" be proper in your statement?

Just asking.

We all follow some kind of God so I think using we is appropriate.

That God sometimes has a political parties name, sometime a religions name for their God.
God should be described as just the best set of rules we can come up with to follow.

This fellow has the right idea but then falls into idol worship himself.

GIA, I do not "have" a "God" - besides i thought you stated : - quote - "God... demonstrably based on a myth..." - unquote -

Nor do I "place myself above" or "below" any mythical/fictional/religious/imaginary "deity" of any kind.
Nor do I "Idolize" or "Worship" any mythical/fictional/religious/imaginary "deity" of any kind.
Nor do I "Idolize" or "Worship" any actual human being, either living or deceased.
Nor do I "Idolize" or "Worship" any actual physical or non-physical "object" or "device" or "technology" or "science" or "plant" or "animal"or "vegetable" or "fruit" or "book" or "song" or "poem" or "insect" or "ideal" or "dogma" or "tenet" or...

GIA, I would have to honestly state that I, dmoe, am basically "Idol-less", "Worship-less" and "God-less".

So... am I, dmoe, "damned to a fate" in a mythical/fictional/religious/imaginary..."place"...and why...?!?!??

GIA, an actual open, honest and truly thought out answer would be the response of a normal Poster...but...lets see what transpires.

So. You have no supreme ideals. Ok.

That does not surprise me somehow.

No we don't. I'm a third-generation atheist. I never heard of gods until I was seven, and I thought it was a big joke so I laughed.

I do not believe in the existence of supernatural creatures.

Neither do I.

That does not mean that I nor you have no ideals that we hold above all else.

That is the definition of God I am working with as shown in that clip.

GIA, there you go again - after I expressly included in my Post #4, the following statement :
- GIA, I would have to honestly state that I, dmoe, am basically "Idol-less", "Worship-less" and "God-less".

GIA, this was in answer to your query in your, GIA"s, Post #3 : - quote - "Who or what is your God D M?" - unquote

GIA, after I, dmoe, openly and honestly answered your query and then also included:

1.) - a query of my own : So... am I, dmoe, "damned to a fate" in a mythical/fictional/religious/imaginary..."place"...and why...?!?!??

2.) - a statement : GIA, an actual open, honest and truly thought out answer would be the response of a normal Poster...but...lets see what transpires.

GIA, again, after all that, you, GIA :

1.) - GIA, you did not in any way even attempt to provide an actual, open, honest and truly thought out answer to my query!
2.) - You, GIA, stated : quote - "So. You have no supreme ideals. Ok." - unquote
3.) - You, GIA, stated : quote - "That does not surprise me somehow."

So, GIA, in my, dmoe, Post #4, I, dmoe, did not state, say or in any way mention or use the word "supreme"!

Yet you, GIA, in your, GIA's, Post #6 :
1.) - Attempted to "twist" or "add" or in "some strange way" - "ignore" or "disregard" or "completely change" my answer.
2.) - You, GIA, then went on in some strange fashion, to "somehow" express that what you, GIA, created - in your own imagination, did "not surprise" you, GIA!

So...there you go...again..., GIA, you did not in any way even attempt to provide an actual, open, honest and truly thought out answer to my query!

So...Mr. GIA, are you stating that you, Mr. GIA, "have no supreme ideals" or that other Posters should Post using the same demeanor that you seem to?

In closing, Mr. GIA, should your feeble Posts "not surprise" any one who has ever read any of your Posted drivel !!!

I had a lengthy post to share here...and my computer kicked me out of the internet...guess it wasn't meant to be. :D

Suffice to say, that religion is what you speak of here, Greatest. It is the root cause of the problems amongst believers. And it isn't only a problem within Christianity, although Christianity tends to get the brunt of all chastising here...it's true in all three of the Abrahamic faiths, this dilemma of competition. This endless ''pissing contest'' amongst believers. It's tragically sad, and it's one of the reasons that got me to look at the path I was on for a long time. My faith is a personal thing for me, now. I think it is for you too, Greatest, yes?

My prior post was so much ...better than this one. This damn computer! :geek:

edit to add...There is a passage in the Bible that I've always been fond of...it talks about how as believers, to be careful not to let your words become noisy ''gongs and symbols.'' Meaning, don't trample over people with your preaching, forgetting to be humble and caring. Don't be obnoxious and loud when it comes to your faith. If people can't see that your faith has made a positive difference in your life, your words then won't mean much.

TL-DR.

Mr. Greatest I am, you obviously - with your Supreme(drivel) Ideals(drivel) - know that if, in the REAL WORLD, you, Mr. Greatest I am, talk(drivel) like you Post(drivel), there is a Very Real possibility that NOBODY LISTENS !!!

not TL(drivel)...I hope!

Well put and yes, your spirituality or religion should be a personal thing. Every Christian speak of a personal relationship with Jesus but all the church gives them is a relationship with the basket they pass around so that people will think that those indulgences will buy their way into heaven. They will have a rude awakening.

Strange that they think that a God can be bribed.

My religion does not purport to be the 'best' or 'only' system of approaching and venerating the gods. And I find it insulting that you lump all religious people, and all religions, into the same box of absolutism. It's inaccurate.

My main targets are the Abrahamic cults. Christianity and Islam.
They are 95% of those here and where I live.

What is your religion. Sounds like it is not the mainstream.

Wicca. It is a neopagan religion that developed in the 1940s, but "came of age" in the 1960s and 1970s.
Neopaganism is becoming more mainstream, though. Not huge, but growing and definitely present in media and culture.

I do not know that much of it but if it, like the revealed religions, it is based on fantasy, miracles and magic then you will have to take my heat and disrespect.

If like my Gnostic Christianism, you are based on logic, reason and nature, then we will be friends.

I think many religious people are trying to end poverty in their own way. There are many religious based charities. The problem is that the religion itself is often an impediment to efficacy, for instance when Catholicism forbids birth control to countries that desperately need it. The main religions also tend to be highly patriarchal, and teach that women should be subservient, another thing that impedes success in terms of income. I really don't think the mainstream religions believe in being rich. Rich people would sooner enter heaven than a camel through a needle... Their vision is of a devout populous getting by working hard but being humble and far from rich, just like farmers in the ancient Middle East.
