Mine has to be either Window of Opportunity or Rules of Engagment.
WOO: It is the funniest episode ever and it's good to see Teal'c has a sanse of humour
RoE: It's a brilliant concept with some cool action scenes.

While, nothing specific stands out that I remember now, I have some rant coming...

Why is that we go to all these worlds, have access to all these super technology, yet the command center is still run by the same computers when the show started. These people never heard of Moore's Law?

And just when you think, the Earth people built the hyperspace plane/ship, it had to be destroyed. Man - such incompetency. May be the shows writers dont have much faith in our human ability....or that if we do get technically advanced during the show, they would not know how to write the story....

And in future...Asguards wont give us anything even if they owe us...that is writers block for you.....one thing for sure...at the end of the show, we will have the same stupid stargate set with same stupid equipment running the same old technology.

I see your point, but it would be tricky uploading the stargate interface into alien technology. If it's not broken, don't fix it. The actual Stargate SG-1 team has had some advancements, from the standard H&K MP-5 submachine gun to the high-tech FN P90. You must have seen the episode with all the rebel Jaffa (cakes). Anyway, the episode your talking about is descent, ep 3 series 6.
I'm hoping that the last episode will have a massive Earth-Asgard-Jaffa v Gou'ld war. That could even be a movie. Who knows, the makers aren't spilling any beans.

Well, they are increasing the power capability of Anubis. He is same level or better than Asguards now. So it stands to reason that Earth capability should go up in scale. But these stupid writers dont have the perspective. Same thing happened to the Hercules series where Hercules can throw a monster weighing several tons and yet could not fight mere humans - even Kevin Sorbo complained about that.

The only power level that was potrayed properly was with Superman. I hope, our Stargate writers learn to keep the power ratio in proper perspective.

What ever happened to Gou'ld technology being vastly inferior to the Asgards. And how did the Gou'ld get this massive jump in technology after not advancing much in over 2,000 years. Its getting stupid.
In the episode when the Tollan's backstabbed us (Earth), there was mention of Gou'ld not sharing technology with one another so those 'Great Hunking Space Guns' would still be of use aganist the rest of the system lords. And Carter would probably be able to modify the weapons to penetrate the shields anyway.
I hope some of the Tollans survived and arrive on Earth with superior technology to help us.

Now you are getting it. It happens in most of the stories no matter who writes it. The story goes like this. Earth people encounter advanced technology. They:

1. Destroy the technology because it could be used for evil purposes.
2. Destroy the technology while running away from it.
3. Destroy the technology by mistake.
4. Destroy the technology due to stupidity
5. Destroy the technology due to sabotage
6. Hide the technology
7. Never mention the technology forward
8. Dont need the technology
9. Dont care about the technology
10. Leave in the hands of someone else
11. Let someone control the technology so that we dont have to
12. Let some one keep it because we are stupid enough to use it

Add your spin. All sci-fi shows are a variation of these.

The thing that'll never change is Earth keeps on winning. A good example of destroying technology is the recent episode Descent where they destroy a mothership to save me...I mean Thor. Another being when they sent Apophis crashing down to the Tok'ra base planet with a mothership, but that was filled with replicators. Why hasn't anyone at Area 51 merged Human weapons with Gou'ld staff weapons. The Imtars don't count, they only stun.

I think, there is a mandate to create a zero-gain story. That is when you start out with an initial condition and end with the same condition. It is like, you make a trip to Japan on a tour group and come home wearing the same clothes and nothing new to show for. I guess these writers do not have any friends or families, so they dont even buy anything. How natural is that?

A thought just came to me. What if the writers are actually saying that this Stargate Program exsists. They are keeping us from getting some heavy weaponry as it would destroy some of the fantasy of the show. I don't see any motherships flying through the night sky, you don't (I hope) and the writers don't, so they don't...include them in the story. They must be trying to keep it true to life as much as possible but keep the fantasy. We can easily store a couple thousand death gliders, but where are we going to hide a mothership from the public where Stargate command can keep tabs on it. Give it to the Tok'ra. Yeah right
A - Most of them are dead
B - Why should we
Also, Stargate command would have to man the ship but that would give the risk of potential leaks. They're trying to keep the whole program as hush hush as possible. Agree.

And, even in the "Flight of the navigator", the kid went back in time but took that little pet with him. That is more realistic - dont you think?

By the way, if you want to keep a mothership , best place to hide will be on the moon or the far side. The gliders and mothership all have cloaking capabilities.

Yes, but it wouldn't take long for someone with a telescope to see it. The crew could patrol the outer rims of the solar system or even visit our nearest star next to the sun. It could be used as an explorer and hyperspace back when we're in trouble, like the Enterprise. You can hide gliders in hangers all over the world.
If we sent a mothership on peaceful mission to make contact with planets without Stargates i,e. that planet people believe can contain life in the nearest solar system to us.

I recently read about a manned mission to Mars by either Russians or the Chinese - somewhere....

When did the Chinese start their own space program? If it was to be anyone, it'll be the Russians. They need one over the US. They'll probaly send an international team to Mars first as a sign of Human cooperation. Its a nice thought, but politics will slam its fat, money filled fist on that idea.

the episodes are cheap compared to the movie.
The Stargate movie is one of my very favourites.

I like any episode involving jack and thor they seem to have a strange relationship its like their long lost brothers but you cant tell which one is the elder.

I like the episode with the armbands (Upgrades), I think that Tok'Ra scientist (Anise/Freya) is hot.

kmguru thats your so funny

I like it when the replicators take over Thor's ship and leaves a message for anyone from Earth who helps him out. SG-1 turn up and see the message.
Thor says "Colonel Jack O'Neill. I have made these recordings for you in the event that I am dead or am unable to pass on the necessary information. Under my command, the Malistener was called into battle against an enemy we have named Replicators. During battle, this ship became infested by the technology. The Replicators accessed the computer which contained information about your planet and plotted a course here. The crew was transported off the ship. I destroyed the outbound transporter technology to prevent the Replicators from escaping and remained in the hopes of stopping the Malistener from reaching Earth. If you are watching this recording, then I have failed and I have also likely doomed you to certain death."

Oh my favorite character is O'Neil of course. But my favorite episodes were definently Shades of Gray and Window Of Oppurtunity.
