This is sciforum.com
It's prime mission is to discuss science. Recognising that we will always have nuts that want to discuss subjects other than science, we have many sub sections. Those sub sections and any posts posted within, still need to undergo critical questions and refutation of any non scientific nonsense.
Sorry, MR as long as you continue to post shit, it will be judged as shit and still need to run the gauntlet and accept the fact that it will always be labelled as shit.
You need to accept that, as this forum's prime motivator of shit/nonsensical threads.
 
No..nobody has to discuss politics as it relates to science. Nobody has to discuss art and film as it relates to science. Nobody has to discuss religion as it relates to science. Nobody has to discuss ethics as it relates to science. Nobody needs to discuss history as it relates to science. All of these forums exist to freely discuss the topic they are designed for. And the same applies to the Fringe section. There is no imperative in any for these non-scientific forums to BE scientific or to apply scientific standards of evidence to their field of research. Such a constraint on discussion would be ridiculous and end up with few posters.

Just another example of you twisting the truth as I said earlier.
This is first and foremost a science forum buddy, and as such YOU WILL undergo whatever scrutiny and refutation that the more logical member see fit to pass.
Your claims will be logically assessed and as usual, probably will be shown to be shit.
And until the rules change that's the way it is.

There's no rule that we need to discuss science or be scientific in the non-scientific forums. None whatsoever. There are strict rules for this in the science forums, and this is appropriate. But not in the other forums. How would anyone possibly validate a political view or an ethical position or a film critique scientifically. You can't. Such would be nothing but a silly pretense.

Derision actually falls under flaming, against which there are several rules. Familiarize yourself with them:

  • Do not insult or harass other members.
  • Avoid engaging with members with whom you have a personality clash.
  • Beware of the potential for discussions to become heated - particularly religious and political discussions.

  • Do not engage in ad hominem attacks (i.e. attack the argument, not the person).
13. It is not expected that all that follow a particular belief system will be friendly and receptive to contrary beliefs. However, there is no excuse for the general disparaging of those who subscribe to a belief system that you personally find unpalatable or offensive.

Well we could go back and show how you in fact should familiarise yourself with the rules particularly the basic standards of good manners courtesy and most of all intellectual honesty. In essence derision is what unscientific crap deserves and as long as it infers to the unscientific crap, it certainly is not only called for, but it is the duty of all logical minded folk to rebuke.

Nope..there's no sci forum rule saying it is your personal duty to flame and deride people here. That's just you excusing you're own violation of the rules. There's only rules to treat people politely without insulting them or attacking the kind of person you think they are. A persistent refusal to do that only gets you ignored eventually.

Why not cite the actual standard, rather than just the title of the forum? The forum rules apply everywhere and specify the required intellectual quality (even if only randomly/sparsely enforced), which you routinely violate:
Behaviour that may get you banned
  • Plagiarism.
  • Knowingly posting false or misleading information.
  • Spamming or advertising.
  • Trolling.
  • Repetitive or vexatious posting.
  • Interfering with moderation.
  • Propaganda, preaching, proselytising or evangelising.
  • Being a repeat-offending drain on moderator time and effort.

No, your "evidence" is laughable -- it's your persistence with your multitude of infractions (and lack of enforcement of those rules) that annoys people. The best way to fix this would be for the moderating staff to start enforcing the rules, but that isn't really what this forum is about. Not that you haven't racked-up an impressive number of bans, but the infinite number of second chances you get to stop trolling is pretty bizarre.

There are several accounts of people feeding Bigfoot in the wild with fruits and vegetables. They seem to have a hankering for apples. Here's a former state trooper who claims to regularly feed the beasts even when accompanied by others.

The man, who provided a full name but chose to remain anonymous, told Cryptozoology News that the encounters have been happening since 2009 in a remote area in the North Cascades.

“Sometimes it is just 5 to 10 minutes, other times they stay for hours,” he said. “I leave them food and they visit,” he continued.

From apples to carrots, to beef jerky, cookies and candy bars, the ex-law enforcement officer claims the creatures eat it all and leave him alone.

The man says he was looking for an old mine in the mountains the first time he came across the alleged beings in 2009.

After leaving the food out there for them, he says, they seem to have started following him and getting closer.

“I have been as close as 20 feet to some of them.”

He reports he was so close to them that he was able to catch some of their “language” in two different occasions.

“They sounded similar to Native American and Asian mix,” he explained, adding that he speaks “some Asian and Native American Salish” himself.

The creatures reportedly stand between 6 and 7 feet tall and probably weight around 500 pounds, females being a little lighter.

“They have a human-like face, some with dark hair, others red or brown, probably about 3 to 4 inches long. The females had small breasts,” the man, also a former Army Special Forces soldier, explained.

And he says he is not the only one to have seen the creatures in the area. Numerous people have also purportedly seen them while accompanying the man.

“When I am alone, they are close. When others are with me, they stay 75 to 100 feet away. Females come the closest to me. They like some people and some they do not?”

The former state trooper says the creatures have never presented a threat to him and that he leaves them alone and is not interested in hunting them or gathering physical evidence.

“I am not in the forest to seek them, I look for something else. However, they appear to be getting closer to me each time,” he said. “I do not try and take their
picture or bother them in anyway.”

As to what these beings really are, the man believes he has a theory.

“He said that they were pulling the Spanish moss off the trees and eating it. He also told my fiance and i and her uncle that he on a regular basis feeds these Skunk Apes sweet potatoes and plantains,” he added.

Bob Hagen, owner of the ranch, is not surprised by the revelations. He says he has seen strange stuff before, although he can’t tell whether it was a “Sasquatch, skunk Ape, or Bigfoot, or anything else”.
