UFOs, Ghosts and Monsters is a forum for discussion of UFO, Ghost and Monster sightings and related phenomena.
SubForum Rules:
1) If you claim something, back it up.
1a) If you claim something is false/untrue, back it up with facts/evidence, not conjecture
1b) In general, a lack of evidence is not evidence to the contrary - however, arguments made in lieu of significant hard evidence (ergo, conjecture) must have significant support to be accepted, especially if they fly in the face of commonly accepted and/or already supported knowledge.
2) Please examine and cross-examine mundane (read: non-paranormal) explanations before posting
3) Be prepared to deal with criticism
4) If you are making a point using a video, and the video is less than 10 frames per second, has a lower resolution than a 1950's dot matrix printer, or was filmed from so far away that you are basically watching pixels dance... then just don't post it.
5) Any thread found to be lacking in supporting evidence or thesis will be closed and/or cesspooled.
5a) Theories MUST be supported to a reasonable doubt - ergo, wild accusations and insinuations can be ignored, but any reasonable alternative must be entertained.
6) Posts made as evidence for some sort of paranormal activity MUST have a theory/thesis on what is going on, backed by factual and determinable evidence. Failure to back the claim will result in the thread being shut down and cesspooled. Claims CAN be unusual/outrageous, but the more implausible the claim, the greater the burden of proof must be (extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence)
6a) "Eye-witness" testimony, especially second-hand testimony, is not, by itself, sufficient to claim something as true. It has been shown time and again that the human senses are incredibly easy to fool.
7) Posts that simply provide a link/video/photos with no explanation or points of discussion will be closed and cesspooled and a warning may be issued. (added 12/15/2014)
8) If you make an argument or posit a theory, and someone shows you why it is wrong, ignoring them or saying "No, you're wrong" is NOT a sufficient counter-argument. This behavior will result in an infraction. (added 6/10/2015)
If you have any questions or concerns, please post them here - irrelevant or off-topic posts will be deleted and infractions issued.
