While vr takes hold , what will be going on in the real world , behind our backs ?

In the Matrix, after 'the Singularity' AIs put humans in the Matrix.

In Facebook's vision, we will all go docilely and voluntarily, like sheep.

Presumably we would rather live heroic fantasy-lives than grim real-lives in a world where everyone's occupation has either been automated or outsourced.

That is the real question .

Real life will presumably be reserved for the billionaire tech moguls who did it to us, like Mark Zuckerberg. They will effectively be the omnipotent system-administrator deities of the fantasy world, the ones who write all the rules and all the code, all of the laws of "nature" that hold true in that world and the ones who have the power to break any of them that they choose.
