That's already been done. A ghost will set off a proximity machine, then step away from it on command.
Not on command but asked .
Can they close the door they have opened ?

My Ghost experiments start with the assumption that they already exist. I am coming up with ways of finding out what they are capable of doing. All your proposals for experiments seem to hinge on first successfully communicating with a ghost, then having them understand you and then asking the ghost to show itself.
That seems to be lot like this:
"Let's do an experiment to see of Phlogiston exists! Step one: get a bucketful of Phlogiston. Step two: ..."
Opening and closing doors is one of their specialties. Not on command but asked .

You missed my point. Your experiments also start with the assumption that you can engage them in conversation and ask them to do things for you. If you can do that, the rest of the experiment is redundant. Just ask them to write you a letter. My Ghost experiments start with the assumption that they already exist. But that's the point, Ghosts can't write a letter, they can only interact in a very limited number of ways. People are having to invent and come up with new things to help the Ghosts communicate. You missed my point. I just saw in the latest episode of Ghost Adventures, that Ghosts make things Cold AND Static. This could have dire consequences for Experiment number 5.![]()
Measured, yes; Detected, not yet.I have to laugh when I read that, especially when just a few simple physics concepts shows it to contradict itself. Ghosts would then have to be physical entities that can easily be detected and measured accurately if the can have an effect on the physical world. Of course, that show probably never even bothered to talk about that, right?
You realize that, in order to measure something, you must be able to detect it, right?Measured, yes; Detected, not yet.
Then how do they know it's because of a ghost at all? They can measure the Ghost's affects, but can't detect the Ghost.
A full body apparition is the much sought after Holy Grail of Ghost Hunting. My experiment Number 5 is the most exquisite yet. It would look fantastic. Then how do they know it's because of a ghost at all?
(Rhetorical question. They don't.)
Bit of a leap from "we can't detect them at all" to "full body apparition".A full body apparition is the much sought after Holy Grail of Ghost Hunting. My experiment Number 5 is the most exquisite yet. It would look fantastic.
Agreed; A full BUBBLE apparition, seems much more feasible to me.Bit of a leap from "we can't detect them at all" to "full body apparition".
Start with baby steps.
They can measure the Ghost's affects, but can't detect the Ghost.
Edit:- Maybe they're just bad at their Job.![]()
I've started so many threads in the 'UFO, Ghost and Aliens' Section. I am tempted however to start a new thread 'Are Ghost Hunters good at their Job?' I could make it a Poll.Really bad. So bad, in fact, they don't even possess the understanding that you must detect something first, to be identified and acknowledged before it can be measured.
This would show these guys are clueless and deluded.
I raised the same point and Hawki addressed it.Really bad. So bad, in fact, they don't even possess the understanding that you must detect something first, to be identified and acknowledged before it can be measured.
