Right, i say that we should ban TV commericials especially, in the middle of a film, tv series, yes yes yes i know that people need to advertise but aren't there other ways of advertising? for example newspapers? or even have a special channel for Tv adverts,

good idea? or not?

we pay a lot of money for tv licences, and i say we shouldn't be made to watch turned up commercials, about buying pizzas and making sure we have health insurance, and all the other stupid commercials out there.

the commercials are louder than the actual programmes and its almost ahs though they want to shout at us from afar!

Let us make a commercial about preventing commercials and make them show it over and over to everyone everywhere!!

They're louder because they know you just went to the kitchen. They're on because they pay the bills.

"this episode of *insert show* brought to you, in part, by the *insert company* group."

What I want gone are those ever-more-intrusive "ads" for other programmes that show up in the lower right corner.

As for the other ads, I watch most everything on DVR, so I just skip past 'em.

I love technology. :D

what the "want to test drive the new astra? then press the red button now"

those adverts??

Let them make a device that eliminates the commercials!! Let them stop taking our time away from us watching what we pay to see!

You even have to watch ads on YouTube now. And they have regular commercials for products (not the other movie previews) in movie theaters now.

I don't go to the movies much any more. The last movie I went to was the Lord Of The Rings, Return Of The King which wasn't to bad to watch on that big screen. I get there just when the movie starts which is usually 15 minutes after the time they tell you it starts. So just arrive late and you'll miss the adverts.;)

No, I haven't seen those, thankfullly.

I mean you're watching something interesting and some silly logo for another show pops up in a bottom corner, flips somersaults all over, and tells you you just HAVE to watch Iditiotic Show #469 sometime next week.

In the meantime, they've obscured an entire quadrant of real estate, which just might have some meaningful content for the show you're watching.

That's why I got my DVR. Oh, the commercials are still there, but hit the 30 second skip button 4-6 times and you never have to know they are.

I'm especially annoyed at all those commercials with men who can't get it up. You would think the most important thing in life is a stiffie and American men are all impotent.

I don't go to movies any more, but that's only because I discovered an allergy to corn (oops!)

But before that I was a regular, and I used the same technique you did. I never missed anything being 15 minutes late. Actually we would aim for 10 minutes, as we didn't mind seeing the previews.

Of course I also went during the day and never weekends, so it's not like I had to work to find a good seat either.

Ahh! Well said LA. Our culture is getting more and more flooded with advertising. Its disgusting!!! Not only are there commercials on tv, but on the side of the road (billboards) newspapers, magazines, movies, movie channels, public restrooms. Theres product placement in all of our favorite shows and movies. Most of the info givenon commercials is also false!!! Something should be done. One can't even go for a damn walk down the street without someone trying to program us to buy their shitty product, or think how they want us to think. It makes me sick!!!

Well, idiot, we are discussing better ways for companies to advertise than by interrupting our TV viewing.
