there will be many more elections to come.

Hmm. Sounds like a mod for every forum and a chicken in every pot.

Edit: Although, none of the above is in the lead at the moment. Thanks, Sarge. ;)

Sorry about the search links timing out.

I think the post count is not important. Have a look at the content of the posts before making a decision.
If you read a candidates posts that shows a propensity towards pseudoscience, do you really want that kind of person to moderate a science forum?
Or if you see the candidate involved in threads who has little or no knowledge of the subject matter, do you want that person as moderator of that forum?
Or would you rather just vote based on a popularity contest? This is usually how moderator ban threads get started, isn't it?
Those questions are exactly why I posted the links. If I thought posts counts were what mattered, then I would have posted post counts.

VOTE FOR ILIKESALT!!!
Your support campaign for ILikeSalt is curious... are you getting a kickback?
Why don't you like mods doing more than one forum? Do you think Tristan is doing a bad job? Or do you think this is a "give everyone a go" kindergarten game?
I'm not sure what you mean by "a feeling of apathy and indifference" about(Q). You seem to think that the Astronomy forum requires heavy-handed moderation. Why?

Are you thinking that sargentlard's votes will be added to "None of the Above"?

I think to requires some moderation, but Q might not be able to provide that.

Actually that post said vote for sargentlard, but sense he drop out I had to change it to another candidate.

And no “none of the above” is not in the lead.

I tired of people thinking that only I wanted a mod for that sub-forum, there was a poll done to see if anyone wanted a mod elected for that sub-forum and it resulted in a large majority saying yes.

Yes, I was and I was about to post but why, but I think I misread.

2. A vote for "none of the above" is NOT the same as "I don't want to vote." By voting for "none of the above", you are increasing the chance that nobody will be elected.

4. For people who wish to vote "I don't want to vote", you can now select sargentlard, since the effect will be the same.

I was equating "I don't want to vote" with "None of the above". It seems I was mistaken. Oh well. None of the above is still creeping up. :D

A majority but not a quorum. 50 votes to call a quorum, isn't it?

I'm sure he did. I've nothing against the election. I'm just mentioning the quorum situation. It really has nothing to do with anything except you saying that it was the vote that inspired the election. I don't suppose a quorum is absolutely necessary in all cases. Wasn't in this case... ;)

Sorry, my mistake, I thought thats exactly what you posted.

I would take Ilikesalt over Q any day. I get the feeling of apathy and indifference from him, sure a corrupt moderator is bad, but one that doesn't give dam is worse.

I think to requires some moderation, but Q might not be able to provide that.

No hard feelings.

Campaigning against me with unsubstantiated claims? Why should I have hard feelings?

BTW - I'll ignore that other thread/poll in which your position as moderator is being challenged... for now.

:D

Wow. It's over already? Just one week, huh? Didn't Fetus's election poll take longer? Seemed like longer.

So, which forum is next?

Anyway, Gratzies Q. Don't let it go to your head. ;)

I wonder how much Fetus's disavowal of your election helped you in the long run? Fetus might be like the Klan. If the KKK throws their support behind any candidate, it only hurts that candidate. And if they denounce a candidate it can only hope. Good old reverse psychology. :D

by the way invert_nexus who is to say I did not plan on using the hate against me to get (Q) elected? ;)

Not me, that's for sure. I know you're the leader of the alien conspiracy. :p

Seriously, though. I wonder...

Edit: Blah. Looks like a conspiracy wondering. What I mean is I wonder if him disavowing Q actually pushed him over the top.

Congratulations, (Q)!

You may have a brief wait before Porfiry makes the change to your settings, but that should happen reasonably soon.

Thanks to all who ran for this position. It was a close contest.
