on occasion. I do not feel for the most part able to take part in the most of the more technicall discussions but do take part in the ones when the basic knowledge of a lay person is enough for me to make decent counter arguments.

Correction. I did quit. And had a long break.
I returned a few weeks ago.
Now, as to this thread.
I had the pleasure of co-moderating Human Science with Dwy and I did not see cause to question his moderation. The member in question had been warned previously about his random comments, many of which were off-topic and at times incoherent. Most of which was unsubstantiated. Chances were given and he failed to support what he claimed in previous threads. Most of which were locked and moved elsewhere.
Those who are protesting the warning issued in that thread by Dwy to this member have seen but a moment in time.
I notice that many have come out of the woodwork and have taken to attacking him personally in this thread. The rules of this site are plain to see. If you had a grievance about his moderation, you had the option of reporting his moderating posts or PM myself or the admin with your complaints. Had you PM'ed me, I would have taken the concerns directly to the admin regardless. I received no such complaints. I am unaware if the Admin did receive any complaints, but if they did, they have not told us about it, which leads me to believe that most of you making disparaging comments about Dwy in this thread remained silent.
Dwy decided on his own to resign. When he informed me of his decision, I did my best to get him to change his mind. In the end, it was too late. His resignation was accepted and his mod status removed. His modship was not "revoked". He was not dismissed for having done something bad. Quite the contrary, we were all sad to see him go.
I find this thread to be pitiful frankly. And highly hypocritical.
G Bells... i dont know aboout others here... but id have to have a certan level of respect for a mod befor i coud report somptin to 'em :yawn:

I second the nomination! We would see fewer bans- the sharpness of her accursed tongue would suffice.
credibility isn't gained by some petty title, it is gained through respect, and mutual appreciation. I don't respect any of the mods worth a damn for being mods. I respect them for the people they are. If anyone thinks that Dyw here loses any credibility for losing an arbitrary title that means nothing outside of this website than I advise them to get their priorities straight.
D's really a nice guy..you just need to get on the nice side of him, if you sense he labled you as a woo woo, pull the eject lever.
while he's one of the most knowledgable people i ever met, and in many fields, he is a bit hard to extract an avowl of error from, both because he rarely makes mistakes, but also because he's a stubborn thickhead

i've never had any interaction whatsoever with D as a mod, but he's definitly one of the best members i met here. in terms of vastness and accuracy of information, he IS the best.

Then you could have reported to the administration. Whether you PM me or not is really none of my concern. You have other options. If you choose to not exercise them, then really, don't come crying about moderator abuse. If you feel a moderator is abusing his/her power, then you have to report. Coming to threads like this to whine about it or to whine about not having respect for moderators is stupid instead of reporting will not result in your complaints or concerns taken seriously. All it does show is that some members have an axe to grind..
Or simply hit the report button on the mod notes made in threads. You know, since they go to all the moderators of that forum and all the administrators.
I liked D when he wore the duck, not overly familiar with his new guise but would assume they're the same. But, christ, the moderation in the liar thread is extreme. Your explanation, Bells, simply doesn't cut mustard. You're simply excusing him for stalking crackpots. Which is fine and in sciforums tradition. But not with moderator powers. Use your brain to attack the bastards, not your control panel.

Maybe he just got tired of someone choosing to be a dumb#ss and even calling him on it wasn't going to solve the problem.
There was a guy on here I won't name for fear he will start the insanity all over again. The mods should have dealt with him far sooner than they did but maybe they were just toying with the food before eating it.
IMO, D asked for those who claimed to know something to prove it if he disagreed with the claim and rightfully should.
Otherwise, you might as well put most of the future threads in the pseudoscience forum because without such moderation that's what we'll have.
