Im a huge footie fan. I support Chelsea and basically i'm just wondering if i could have decent conversation about soccer. BTW who do you support?. I suspect im sending the wrong signals, cos the majority on sciforums are american, I might be very wrong, but if im right, enlighten me on soccer in the states. I do know about Freddy Adu and what the league is called, but that's about it.

Do I ever !!!! My team is Arsenal, Henry is amazing, he is my favorite player. I have loved that team for five years, being that is when I found out about the premiership. We lost Viera but it's ok we still have the other french men

Arsenal are on Fire with 44 matches unbeaten, they beat Nottingham Forrest's Record which many thought was unbeatable. They've got great talent from the likes of players whov'e established themselves like Bergkamp, Veira, Ashley Cole and Henry and up and coming youngesters like seventeen year old Fabregas and out on loan David Bentley. I hope Chelsea win the league with the Champion's League Winner Jose Mourinho, but it will be a tall order, I think it will be Tighter than Last Season. Wer'e not doing to bad at the moment being second in the league, but it's early days yet.

I support Man U! They are really having a dismal season so far but once Wayne Rooney starts in the line up, we should be kings of the world (Premiership) again!!!

My house mate is uttlerly obsessed with football. He plays 'Champ' non-stop and insists on watching the premiership. (And also supports Man U)

Complete waste of time IMO, it's just a bunch of tossers running about a pitch.

Not that I don't enjoy playing my self, it's just very boring to watch after you've seen it a couple times.

MAN U ROCK!!!!!! their just not having a good season so far (as John said) but (again as john said) once Rooney is up we will be undefeatable bwahahahahahaha!!(note to Arsenal fans: we will we will rock you)

When did everyone start loving Arsenal? Last season. Man U is planning for the future, with new, young players; instead, Arsenal are just siphoning off the French population. Dudish Dude: I concur.

The guy's who just support the best team at the moment and supported a different team before are just glory hunters. Iv'e supported Chelsea since i was four and I'M fifteen now, so iv'e watched them in Stamford Bridge and on the T.V for about 11 years.

Jose Mourinho, IMO is an arrogant bastard, but he's one the Champion's League with FC Porto which i didnt think had an array of stars, but Deco(Sweeper), Maniche(CB,CM), Vitor Baio(GK), Alfonso(CM), Benedict McCarty(Striker) really shined in the tournament. He Brought with him Thiago Mendes(CM), Paulo Feirrera(CB) and Ricardo Carvalho(LB) to Chelsea. Their Good, but not Brilliant Surprises like the ones i mentioned. He Brought three Strikers and one Goalkeeper. One of them now is playing as a Left-Midfielder Arjen Robben(Holland,LM,LF) who has great ball-control, Didier Drogba(France,CF) who has the whole package, but has weak points he must address, otherwise Jose Mourinho will give him the cold shoulder, Mateja Kezman who is now with his partner in crime Robben from PSV Eindhoven was top dutch goalscorer in the league, need i say more. The Czech Goalkeeper Petr Cech is regarded as the best in the world because of what he displayed in Euro 2004 for his national side.

Some underrated Players like Damien Duff(LM,Ireland), Scott Parker(CM), Claude Makelele(CM,France) and Goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini should be on the first team, but Jose Mourinho has more Love for his new players, which is a shame because i feel we'll lose these to lesser teams.

Rooney's Overrated, i mean he's practically the same player as Alan Smith if you look at the statistics. The Big Shout about him is because he's eighteen and he plays years above himself, give him four years and he'll either become one of the Man United Greats or He'll become another Micheal Owen, who is Garbage.

The liloldeshed you are wrong, the reason there is so much hype about Rooney is that he is GOOD. And Micheal owen is also good otherwise why would Real Madrid want him. And im not a glory supporter by the way i have supported Man U since i was 5 and im now fourteen. I started because my brother supported them but he now supports Chelsea (note to chealsea: Keep up the good work and beat Arsenal).

I support arsenal from the premiership, and non-league team barnet, since im from london and they were my nearest teams. Arsene wengers done a fantastic job since he arrived at arsenal, thierry was a bargain a few years back, reyes is looking good, fabrages could be a star, along with bentley.
As far as rooney goes, he is overrated, i heard somewhere he picked up more bookings last year than he scored goals, he has a lot of potential and may be good in a few years time but now he is just average, in my opinion man utd are slipping because they arnt bringing in world class players, though they do have a lot of young players with potential.
All there is to say about chelsea is i cant wait for a few seasons time when they havnt won anything and mr abramovich buggers off, leaving them millions in debt, i wouldnt like to see another big club go through money troubles but it might shut the fans up who are saying how great it is, its all good now but when he leaves the troubles start.

Rooney means more than goals to Man U. He is the great white hope who brings promise of better times and more trophies, he is a chance to bring back some excitement to the team which has been floating unconvincingly in recent years.
Do not forget the return of Rio, that will make a huge difference.
Arsenal are bound to slip up,it just will happen.
I've supported Man U all my life but would definitely rather Arsenal to win ahead of Chelsea, I love Duff but if United aren't going to win you must reward the greatness of players like Henry, Bergkamp and Pires, pure class. I love Reyes and I HATE Wenger for getting him.
Soccer is the greatest spectator sport in the world.

I disagree with maria and lemming i think that chelsea should do well because they were not very good last year and now jose mourinho has come in they are doing really well.
As for Rooney:Maria I Concur

Yes but they didn't come first and i think if they do come first they will deserve it

i am a neutral as far as football is concerned, i watch and enjoy it, but never get off the wall.
and im not using this as insurance for what im about to say.
aresnal are utterly dominant at the moment. chelsea, who i have seen rise like a souffle, and are now one of the richest teams in the world, have a 4 wins and 1 draw record in the early goings. aresnal have 5 wins. notice anything? wenger knows all. and thats not some worship thing, its actually true.
anyone notice that new guy hes signed. his name has temorarily slipped my mind, but this gut is from barcelona i think. the guy is shit hot, ridiculously taleneted, and he was one of the stars of his former clubs youth team. in the european youth tournament, he was player of the tournament. now, somehow, wenger got him for peanuts. how? greasing fences or whatever that term for briery is obviously suspect, but i am yet to hear a decent counter argument than this for how wenger got him.

i literally cannot see anyone who can beat arsenal, they are a team brimmed with talent and are at their peak, or near enough ;).

chealsea, perhaps... i dont think 1 teams enough though. manu, dont have it methinks.

Fabresc Fabregas, the seventeen year old arsenal got from Barcelona is an outstanding player for his size, but nothing special like Ronaldinho.

Theirs something fishy with Arsenal, how come their scouts are always their first. I just hope Chelsea get Hatem Trabelsi from Ajax before Arsenal, IMO he's the best Centre-Back in the world.

Arsenal got Theirry Henry for pittance. I mean if i was a scout for Man U or Chelsea i wouldv'e had to be blind to not see his excellence in world cup 98.
