I did hold you slightly above the other well known forum cranks.Mind the trolls, wellwisher.
I would hold both of you in much higher regard if you occasionally answered direct questions once in a while. I've committed the usual insults to memory, so don't bother typing them again. Save yourselves some effort and provide a link to them, all in one post.I did hold you slightly above the other well known forum cranks.
It appears as brucep and others have told me, that I am indeed wrong on that score.
I thought wellwisher was singular, not plural?Mind the trolls, wellwisher.

Delusions of Grandeur as a Part of Mania of Bipolar Disorder
Hence why we have so many plastic Einsteins on this forum.

You needn't respond. I have a link to the usual insults. That works really well.
You are right. I was out of line again. Sorry. Why would I be included? I've stated many times I'm only a lay person, who has read a bit and taken notice of reputable sources of knowledge.
With those basic few tools, I am to some extent able to refute the many alternative hypothetical nonsense that forums such as this attract, [since forums are the only outlet these people have]I'm able to discertain the highly unlikely scenario that this forum, [or others] will be the birth place or emergence of another Einstein. These are fairly logical assumptions that are easily arrived at. Obviously it's these troubled ego inflated individuals I'm referring to that have a problem, highlighted of course by our own four TOE claimants we have had.
Let us work under the assumption, that conspiracy theories are connected to feelings of grandeur. The question is, how does not believing in man made global warming make those who deny this "truth", feel grand?
The person who questions and cribs about others Grandeur (even if that is false sense of Grandeur), must be suffering from severe self doubts and huge inferiority complex.........
.
No, that doesn't make sense.
Within the context we are talking about, that is amateurs, without proper qualifications or learning, having illusions that because they are able to think for themselves, [as most people can] then whatever pops into their little cranium, must over ride and displace what the many qualified and learned giants throughout history have worked hard to achieve and match pretty closely what we observe.
The connection of course between the "delusions of grandeur" and "conspiracy lovers", is of course that once they are forced to face such delusions of grandeur and their own grossly inflated egos, their only recourse is to immediatley call the establishment mainstream recalcitrant and insist that they are a mob unto themselves and will never accept any alternative hypothesis that should happen to invalidate any long standing scientific theory.
That argument though falls flat on its proverbial arse, as do the cranks that push such nonsense, simply because of the fact that all our present mainstream scientific theories, had at one time or another also been "alternative" and also had to "run the gauntlet" and undergo stringent critique from their peers.
They did that successfully and came out the other side as accepted logical models of the universe around us.
And most probably some of the present models will one day in the future, be replaced and/or modified when some young spark comes along with some brilliant insight based on data and what he has observed.
And as science is today at such an advanced state, with access to advanced equipment, that non scientists and lay people just do not have, the next bright spark will be a part of the mainstream brigade.
The chances of someone coming from left field to rewrite any discipline of science may be theoretically non zero, but realistically, far closer to zero than one.
Even the arrogant pompous Isaac Newton [as great a scientist as he was] said "I see as far as I do because I stand on the shoulders of giants"
But today we seem to have a new breed of arrogance that even surpasses Newton's Even though they absolutely lack Newton's redeeming qualities of brilliance and intelligence.
