Scientists are amazed to find on satelite that cows align themselves to the northern magnetic field!!!

No kidding! Fresh on the news, so i can't find any links to link you to yet. But i'll keep my eyes open.

i'm amazed if scientists didn't know this already, because we have known it for thousands of years. even humans tend to face north when they sleep or pray to god.

Then be amazed at how little Yorda didn't know already. To those humans for whom a direction of praying matters, they usually choose the East - NOT North.

As for sleeping, you'd have to prove that because I don't believe it at all. It's dependent on the orientation of one's home and bed - and that's usually (especially the bed) done with no thought of which direction it's facing. And even while out camping - it's totally random.
 
Most churches in Europe are, I believe, aligned East-West...

east? if your thinking of Islam its not east, its towards mecca.

most people sleep facing the door. so that if you were sitting up in bed you are facing the door into the room or its general direction. its good feng shui BTW

Fewer (actually far fewer when you take into account hotel rooms) than 50% of the bedrooms I've slept in have had the bed facing the door.
Most have been across the line of entry to the room rather than in line with it.
 
ok well thats why i have "general direction".......

in other words when sitting in bed you can see the door while looking "generally" straight ahead. most hotel rooms are arranged this way not facing north, not with the door immediately left or right or behind you.
 
lets say in the half of the room opposite the head of the bed would be the location of the door entering said room.

if i was to pick 10 houses at random in my locality and post pictures as proof would you be willing to bet against that nearly all if not all had the bed arranged as ive stated?
 
Um no, most of my beds, as a kid particularly when we moved house a fair bit, ended up with the door behind me when I sat up.
And every hotel in the last year (while working in London) the door was directly left or right.

money talks if you believe in something invest in it. that will show me how much you believe.

How does "belief" come into it?
I've stated a verifiable fact, all you've done is "bet" you're right and offer to do a sample of ten houses.
 
back to the topic: i just checked on the cows and they all seem to be facing pretty much south, ill have to keep an eye on it over the next few days though, as their alignment could very well be a result of the shape of the paddock they're in.
