"grrrr"? Hey, look, no offense was intended. I apologize if any was taken. I was just being silly.

Wales, huh? Cool! My paternal grandfather was from Wales. As an american my lineage is mish-mash, but for reasons that are unclear to me, I seem to identify with the Welsh component of my heritage, (I must confess tho, I know very little about Wales:( )

no your ok, i know it was a joke, i was just winding you up!

Anyway, usually you can't enter any images that already have been exposed to the public..

Enmos: Incorrect.

I enter dozens, if not hundreds, of photo competitions every year and I have yet to see one that doesn't allow an image that hasn't been posted on forums/other photo comps etc. They will however stipulate that the photo can't have been published - that means in actual book print on sale in a shop, not pasted on a forum or your own webspace.

If you're in England I can give you links to many photo comps. Let me know.

Hmm perhaps I'm wrong about that then, maybe I interpreted it the wrong way.
Anyway, I'm not in England.. I live in The Netherlands :)

Only Amsterdam ? I'm curious... what was so beautiful about it ?

Different culture, life, look, feel, I guess:shrug:. I was only there for three days before I flew to Sorrento, Italy; so I was unable to see most of the Netherlands. I just enjoy being away from usual life (which is very rare), so almost anywhere different seems beautiful to me.

Dont worry, it wasn't nessesarily the "De wallen" that appealed to me most.

LOL that's not what I meant. I'm just surprised that whenever people talk about a foreign country they have been to being beautiful, they refer to the marvels cities there.
I cannot understand why anybody would find them beautiful..
To me the beautiful of a country is directly related to the nature there.

I saw a little of the Netherlands outside of Amsterdam. Those windmills add a very scenic effect. I really could have stayed longer and gone to different places, but keep in mind that I was traveling with a lot of my realtives and in addition to that, I'm only 16. Since I had very little influence on where my relatives were going, I just made the most out of it.

Ok.. lol
The Netherlands has some nice places but there are lots and lots of countries that I think are more beautiful.. maybe it's because I grew up here and I don't see it anymore.

Btw. apologies for the ridiculous typo's in the last post, I guess I was tired at the time

I just think any foreign country is beautiful. Everything is unique about each one.

A pic that I took of lake Mason in northern US.

Lake is so clean, you can drink it! :D It is one of the few places in America were the is little pollution. LOTS of fish in it, too!

The cliffs of Dover in the background as the ship sails away from the port with the lighthouse in the foreground.
