computer temperature

the computer is located in a smaller run that is well ventalation. Its the coolest room, but no air conditioning.

i went into bios and checked under health:
system temp: 43 C/109 F
cpu temp: 67/152F
current chassic fan speed: 0 rpm
current cpu fan speed: 4383 rpm
current second fan: 0 rpm
shutdown temp: 95c/ 207F

heres my case, has 2 fans : http://shop1.outpost.com/product/3536634

my friend says imma fry the computer, whats your input on this? whats the ma. temp ill get out of this? thanks in advance.

My cpu is usually at 32C and the system is 30C.

The 43C for your system doesn't seem like it would be damaging, because most things wouldn't fry at that temperature. Your case says it has 2 fans....they aren't hooked up to the sensors on the mobo. With 2 fans, I'd think the temp would be much lower. You might want to make sure there isn't a lot of blockage with wires, that could trap hot air inside the case.

Your cpu temp. is extremelly high. You definately are at risk of frying your thing at that temp. Intel rates the Pentium 4 to 70C as the highest point before major trouble. Are you overclocking that thing? Did you assemble the computer yourself? You might have forgotten to put thermal compound between the cpu and the heatsink. Open the case and touch the heatsink, if it's not hot, then there's a problem.

its not overclocked. i assembled it with my teacher. we applied coolant between the cpu and heatsink. the wires look okay.

I overclock and keep the CPU below 50C, My case is totally open and has a house fan blowing through it.

bought a ultra quiet cpu cooler CNPS7000-alcu for 40 bucks. this one has both pure al and cu. im running it a silent mode and is 10 C cooler which is 58C. If i overclock this thing one day, theres a overclock mode which is nosier.

Is it good to enjoy the quiet of no fans at all?

I have an iMac G3 running at 500 MHz with no fans, that I bought last year.

It is so quiet, I can actually hear myself think, or hear the hard drive noises.

How would I find out its temperatures? I have it set to automatically go to Sleep, after an hour of idle time, and usually put it to Sleep, when done with it for a while. I feel more comfortable with its cooler temperature when it Sleeps.

I like the silence of not hearing noisy fans, and depending on the convection currents of the CRT to keep it cool.

But then the trend now is variable speed fans controlled by temperature sensors, to eliminate most of the noise?

i built my computer and i case came with a external thing that tells me the temp. theres a thermother inside. as for fans im so use to it i dont hear it nemore. i have a big fan on the cpu, one on the power, 2 on the side and cooling light (what does the lgiht do besides look cool)?

i bought my athalon 1ghz from a good will for 40 bucks(i got connections) it's a network server so there's like 13 fanbs total, but it's not overclocked cause Hmonitor said that the voltage for the cpu is in red is that bad or something?

psychomantyss,

whats the voltage at? Is it a "thunderbird"? what is the ID number on the CPU? with that info I can tell you or direct you to sites that will give you the safe and stable voltage limits and clock speeds your cpu can reach.

Just a point for you, Computer processors (and the chips on the boards) are called "Semi-conductors". The overall understanding is that a "semi-conductor" can run at room temperature.

Some of the first large (roomsized) computers were more "Super-conductor" Orientated, which meant that their processors (Well processing modules) had to be kept under constant environment control with particular gases (namely Cryogenic's).

Although a more accurate account of the Evolution of computers (from Bell-Labs point of view) is available:

thanx fetus, the voltage is at 1.8v but it should be at 3.0v, eh

no 1.8v is good (where did you get 3.0v from???)

If its a thunderbird you should be able to do 1.4Ghz and more
If its a classic you max out at 1Ghz.
