The future of 3D printing isn’t Lego-driven hot glue guns (as amazing as those are). No, it’s this wild-looking machine that pulls fully-formed three-dimensional objects out of a pool of goop.

And yes, it’s a real thing. This is the Carbon3D printer, and it’s said to be anywhere from 25 to 100 times faster than the 3D printers most of us are familiar with today — like the ones made by Solidoodle and MakerBot.

I'm not sure what's new about it, stereolithography machines were some of the first 3D printing technology.

Maybe the "new" part is that they will be finally available for home use? I'm just glad I didn't throw my money into a 3D printer yet. I really want to see this happen but there are some skeptics.
