Boredom...

It's just me and the dog on the couch this morning. I've run out of hobby projects for entertainment. I just can't think of anything that seems interesting. I've surfed online most the night and it's pretty much run its course. Television sounds extremely boring at the moment. I want to do something creative, but what that might be escapes me.

How about you? Do you have days when you're wanting something to do, but nothing really sounds adequate?

Doing so might activate a long and tedious debate. I did give him a poke, but wasn't really looking for much interaction. Anyway, it's Monday and I'm feeling less restless.

I do not do 'boredom'...ever. I value every minute, and sitting on the couch with my Labrador Retriever is not boring in the least.

But then, I start out each day with a list of things I want to do and finish each day without having gotten to all of those things.

That's a good attitude. My life is work and sleep for most the week. Last Sunday I just felt like doing something, but nothing seemed interesting.

Make a list of things you like. I use a good sized dictionary. Look at the tools around you and decide if you are skilled with them. I made a simple frame out of wood today and made 10 mistakes. The last mistake I found was in the first dimensions of the art that was being framed. Becoming skilled at something comes with practice over time. Skill is its own reward, especially if you enjoy what you are doing. Someone mentioned the joy of work.

Sometimes while I'm bored I let youtube videos run on a large screen.

There's some weird and emotional stuff out there.

YouTube is great. I do need to search for something to make it work for me. I tried my luck at just coasting at random--sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Time and boredom are my worst enemies.

So I tune into coast to coast and red ice creations. Boredom conquered.

This weekend I have a cigar box guitar project going on (building one for a trooper in Afghanistan). I've been working on it at night and sleeping during the day. It's been a productive weekend with no boredom.

My fastest PC is hooked up to my LCD TV and I surf the web with some slower thing. Since the fast PC has a larger drive I can have a lot of movies on it and TV shows. I can run TV cable through it. Youtube whatever. Use it as a blue ray player. Have some kickass sound card and speakers... When I'm bored I can surf the web and listen to whatever. Some documentaries are all or mostly just vocal. I'm also getting interested in the deep web but just going over some reviews has already given me some screwed up dreams. I also learned that having some news networks on while surfing the web is depressing. I only use the CNN website now lol.'

Many times boredom is having nothing to do. Find something that you like doing and you won't be bored ever again. I vary what I do during the day. I read, eat, nap, walk, watch TV, write, and surf the net.

Believe it or not, my friends think I'm intelligent ; I try only to be concise on fora. Talking to people can be a wonderful thing.

There are some people that consider me a friend but I'm actually intimidated by.

I've often thought about finding a bubble where everyone was in agreement with me, but that would just be so darned boring.
