Best Things For Smoothie

I don't know, but if I visit my mother and am smashing my hand in my fruit salad and tell her it's in the name of science, she's going to have a lot of questions. :p

Sugar is sugar is sugar, whether it's date sugar, honey or refined sugar - don't kid yourself. It is true however that artificial sweeteners are much worse than sugars.

You are right and wrong at the same time!

http://www.curezone.com/foods/sugarpage.asp

Sugars are generally the same, but refined sugars like corn syrup, and refined white sugar have been stripped of their benefits. Blackstrap Molasses for instance, has 13% of your daily iron, 18% of your daily manganese, 12% of your daily calcium and 14% of your daily copper.

Sugars should be weighed on their benefit to your body and not just on the idea that they are sugars. Meat needs sugar to help balance it out in your system, as well as helping proteins digest.

I don't touch chemical (artificial) sugar substitutes.

would watermelon be a waste in a smoothie? Seems like it would water down the drink

Watermelon is just fine in a smoothie and the water in it is fine if you don't use as much other liquid. And watermelon has 24% of your daily Vitamin C in it as well as vitamins A, B6 and B1. Not only that but watermelon is also a very concentrated source of the lycopene which is a carotenoid. Lycopene has been studied extensively in humans and animals and has been found to be protective against a growing list of cancers; prostate cancer, breast cancer, endometrial cancer, lung cancer and colorectal cancer.

Fruit is dessert and those things loaded with sugar, extracts and fat we call "dessert" in the west are death.

Even though I've disproved that theory time and again in this thread...

Repeating false information over and over doesn't make it true. fyi. Evidence that we don't need fruits in our diet at all, please. And evidence that fruit isn't beneficial to your health and well being, because saying it's a dessert only and not meant for regular consumption in a healthy diet is adverse to what every health professional will tell you time and time again.

WRONG!!

Here's an article I found that sums it up pretty well:

Not only is that not scientific, it's wrong and he's not a medical professional.

Try reading some of the links I provided.

Now you are just wasting everyone's time with bad information.

Lol, you're hopeless - every piece of information provided at that link is true. Fruit is not a necessary part of our diet.

Do you eat fruit ?
And what about vegetables, are they necessary ? And meat ?

Yes, I eat fruit occasionally - but I recognize it's an indulgence and not something I need.

Vegetables are necessary. They have many vitamins and minerals in them - although nightshade vegetables like tomatoes (more akin to a fruit), potatoes and eggplant I try to avoid because they contain large amounts of solanine and other alkaloids which are toxic.

Animal meat is high in fat and is not necessary in our diet. We can get just as much protein from beans, vegetables and whole grains without all those fats (and consequently a much lower calorie intake) - not to mention the hellish existence animals go through in a slaughter house.

You know that fruit contains substances that are very good for us and aren't found in high concentrations in other food, right ?

On a side note, I know someone that lives exclusively on fruit.
