baby names!

help me and my wife decide on baby names, we do not know if it is a girl or a boy yet, so both boy and girl names are open :).

we have come up with tons so far, and none of them are normal in the slightest, the likes of,

zues, odin, hurcules, cairo, destiny, goku, gohan, spartas, have came up,


so yes anything is a possibility, most of my name ideas have been rejected by the wife, especialy ones along the lines of,

warrior, blade, shaolin, leonades, the jade emporer, thunder, and thor,



any suggestions.

titan or elixir, would have been better suggestions,

How about names like Yoda or ob1 kenobi!


Eve is quite nice too, or Isiah is pretty good.

failling these you can always go for "Dave Tooze"

solomon is an ok name, but she wont like it i know,

she suggested lucifer,

i said why not just call it satan and get it over with.

I'm curious.
Why are you specifically looking for bizarre, outlandish names, and words that aren't names?
Why warrior-related words and names of God of other and dead cultures?

Are you trying to make some sort of statement with your kid?
Do you want your child to be your bumper sticker or pretty little bracelet to show off to friends?
I'm not accusing you of this, I am asking, because that was my first impression when I read the names.
It comes off to me like you are not so much interested in raising a child to be an individual, but having some cool new toy to show off to your friends that will be an extension of yourself - "Look, it matches my car!".

yeah, My wife wasnt impressed when i suggested that name too for our first child.

Perhaps she may go for darth Sidious if she is uop for lucifer??!!??

Alternatively you could go for Gandalf, perhaps she wont like that but she may like Saramon or Sarun even

:) because i get to name something, and if i get to name something then i am naming it with a name that i like.


i guess its selfish because the child will most likely be bullied, but its my decision and i will choose a name that i like, and i like weird old names or names of powerful status.


the child can change his name if he/she wants.

for a boy her favorite name so far is cairo, (wich i came up with) but yeah she seems to like evil names, like lucifer or damien, i like names of power and strength,


i see it like this, if you were the designer of a new car, would you call it john, or something like warrior, or blade, or fire, or lightening,


you would give it a name with power and style wouldent you, not a name thats ordinary common or boring,


i could go and name him something normal but why i dont see the point, i wouldent call my cat or dog, rover or whiskers either, people who do have no imagination,


my cat would be called deathclaw, my dog would be called titan. my monkey would be called papoose :)

or soemthing along those lines.
