OK, I'm starting to remember how badly this went before.

river, most of us here have had at least some science education and will generally subscribe to the standard model, including Einsteinian general relativity. It would save us all a lot of time if you just read up on that and took it as a given that that's what our answers will be. It's not up to us to teach you modern physics.

exchemist is correct: river's contributions were - and apparently still are - time wasters. They're not trolling per se - they're just ... dumb, and river often needs things explained in excruciating detail and then immediately forgets all of it.

At one level, it doesn't really matter whether people object to your coming back here. Either you'll revert to your previous behaviour, that almost got you permanently banned (frankly, I'm a little surprised that you didn't complete the process), or you won't. If you do, then you'll most likely quickly find that you're not spending much time here again, regardless of your intentions in that regard.

If it bothers you that a lot of people would rather you didn't come back, then you're free to leave, of course. But I doubt that it bothers you.
 
Yet I have gotten from an administrator , who ever that was , at least once a month , for the last year . that is trying to entice me to come back , by giving me examples of the current thinking .
Someone is respecting my thinking . Which I appreciate .
There has to be a reason that these e-mails were sent .

You shouldn't read too much into automated emails saying "We notice that you haven't posted in a while. Here's a few posts you missed while you were gone." etc.

That isn't an endorsement of your thinking.

I came back out of curiosity . Of why an administrator on this site would be enticing me to give my opinion on anything . For a year or so . When I have been banned previously so many times before .

I thought that this site had changed . Being more open minded .

I’ve noticed a few lapsed members showing up, at least briefly, in recent months. I suspect a mailbot campaign may have been started to try to reinvigorate the site. Not in itself a bad idea, but I suppose the return of an idiot like river is one of the unfortunate side effects. :(

It is a bot. It doesn't even know who you are or what you post.

The bot is a standard part of the content platform that SciFo is built on. It is probably enabled by default when the site was published decades ago, and likely has ever even been seen or touched by human hands.

It takes exactly two inputs:
- the last time an active member posted
- their email address

and produces exactly one output:
- a boiler plate "please come back!" email message

Riv, your problem isnt that we aren't open-minded; your problem, at the very least, is that you have been unable to express any of your ideas in a cohesive way.

For example, your claim about rotation rate and gravity has never been defended in any way. It's not even clear what you idea is - you've never stated it in general - let alone quantitative - terms, or used examples. You just blurt your idea and then sort of ... forget what you were saying. Usually, it isn't even a complete sentence. And you don't hold on to the idea long enough to even answer questions about it. Your recent comments in the UAP thread are another good example.

I know you like discussing about sciency-stuff, but you should be reading and asking questions. Avoid making statements of your own.

I’m just hoping this repechage bot process doesn’t mean we don’t get paddo back. -_O

(In fact one person I would quite like to see back is paddo’s nemesis, Qreeus. He was a stroppy git with some eccentric ideas, but he did know some physics - a lot more than paddo, who was a rather patchy autodidact. I always got along with Qreeus fine. However I think he got banned rather than just stalking off, so that will never happen.)
