Any chemicals to help with...

haha I most definitely will. I'm wearing one of them now. It's funny, but I lost track of them, and it took seeing them intertwined in a knotted mess, to rekindle my love for them.
OK send us a selfie then - just of your neck, I mean.

lol you guys are so silly.

Okay, here are the two culprits. I posted one pic zoomed in to show you the type of chain it is, all those tiny holes were even twisted up.

I see. Judging by the hair on the fabric (which I assume is from your head and thus gives an idea of scale), these must indeed be very fine chains indeed. I'm not surprised it took you a while.

I suppose the issue now is how to make sure they don't get tangled again, whether with each other or just with themselves.
Okay, this is one of those face-palm moments...I've warned you. lol I actually have a necklace ''hanger'' that has horizontal posts that allow for the hanging of necklaces, which keeps them from tangling. (on occasion, they still tangle, but they won't become knotted - gravity (?)) But I forgot to hang these two up, placing them on my dresser, and for the past few months, through moving them about, they became tangled.

So, it's all my fault, in the end.

They're hanging up where they belong, now. lol

Oh that's a clever idea. My wife only had a couple, one of which I bought her in the Dubai gold souk, so the issue didn't really come up chez nous. (I still have the necklaces. Suppose I should dispose of them but I can't quite manage to do that.)

When things like this get tangled it always reminds me of Statistical Thermodynamics: there are more ways for something to be disordered than ways for it be ordered, so the disordered (higher entropy) state is more probable. We spend a lot of our lives doing work against this tendency.
