Fantasy & Anime are allowed

To answer a question, which has been asked many times here, anime is allowed.

You can post about Yu-Gi-Oh or DBZ. Sailor Moon or Pokemon. The incredible Bubble Gum Crisis or Gundam Wing. All anime is allowed in the scifi section. Except for that hentai crap.

Someone showed up recently and said that fantasy really didn't have a place here. I say it does. So fantasy is allowed to. (Even though under the little forum descritption it says "fantasy")

No no ecchi is not a anime its a class of animes, its just below a hentai in that there is no sex but there are lots of nude sceens and panty shot, so many panty shot that you will demand that from now on you want to only see women were boxers as underwear instead! here let me give you a example:

LAWS OF ANIME

Check this out came from my Univ. anime club (the one I was kick out of for making fun of all the animes)
http://condor.stcloudstate.edu/~otaku/animelaw.html
oh here is the later version, my fellow students riped it from the origional:
http://www.bright.net/~nyla/animelaw.html

here are some goodies from the link to look at

8. Second Law of Temporal Mortality
It takes some time for bad guys to die... regardless of physical damage.
Even when the 'Bad Guys' are killed so quickly they didn't even see it
coming, it takes them a while to realize they are dead.
This is attributed to the belief that being evil damages the Reality
Lobe of the brain.

11. Law of Inherent Combustability
Everything explodes. Everything.
First Corrallary
Anything that explodes bulges first.
Second Corrallary
Large cities are the most explosive substances known to human
science. Tokyo in particular seems to be the most unstable of
these cities, sometimes referred to as "The Matchstick City".

27. Law of Feline Mutation (a_hicks@lvc.edu)
Any half-cat/half-human mutation will invariably:
A. be female
B. will possess ears and sometimes a tail as a genetic mutation
C. wear as little clothing as possible, if any

37. Law of Extradimensional Capacitance
All anime females have an extradimensional storage space of variable volume
somewhere on their person from which they can instantly retrieve any object
at a moment's notice.
First Corollary (The Hammer Rule)
The most common item stored is a heavy mallet, which can be used with
unerring accuracy on any male who deserves it. Other common items include
costumes/uniforms, power suits/armor, and large bazookas.

38. Law of Hydrostatic Emission
Eyes tend to be rather large in Anime. This is because they contain several
gallons of water, which may be instantaneously released at high pressure
through large tear ducts. The actual volume of water contained in the eyes
is unknown, as there is no evidence to suggest that these reservoirs are
actually capable of running out. The reason water tends to collect in the
eyes is because Anime characters only have one large sweat gland, which is
located at the back of the head.

I just watched Kiki's Delivery Service. I did not know what I was missing. I'll be seeing his other two movies.

Ok lets put this anime sticky to good use! Lets make reviews of animes that we have seen. Keep the reviews short and try not to spoil the endings, tell us briefly what it was about and/or what was good or bad about it. I’m writing a review on every anime I have downloaded and/or seen to completion… but that’s going to take me a looooonnng time! Ecchi (I guess?) is allowed but no hentai (well that takes a lot of my reviews out :D ) Also try to post a link about the anime so that those that want to can learn more. Most of all do not cheat by putting someone else review up, I want your own personal opinion a synopsis of the show.

Agent Aika:
Declare to have more panty shots then any other anime… EVER! Aika is a secret agent with superpowerful T1000 underwear and fights off an army of scantly clothed women.

Akira: (movie)
Lets this be a lesson: Never try to engineer telekinetic powers into children, you will eventually end up with some horrible monstrosity that will nuke the matchstick city (Tokyo) and have to be cryogenically frozen and hopefully with a little luck never set free again. You think they would learn but no they have to do it again! I would have to say the movie was better then the comic book (manga) way more ominous and the music was great.

Armitage: (the movies and series)
Kick Ass Android Girl yadda yadda yadda, do I need to say more? the music suck the graphics are modern but not great but it play out like Quake 2 (aka it rocks!)

******* more to come: that just the "A"s  *******

good lord! you watch entirely too much anime. ive only heard of one of those...

That because I have it downloading in ~12 hours a day 7 day a week over Wireless Ethernet! I have never spent a single cent on my 150GB anime collection (Well maybe for HD, CDRs, the internet serves comes with the dorm)!

Battle Angel Alita:
Hundreds of years in the future the world is wasted and ruled by cyborgs and super-humans, and then there is a kick ass cyborg girl here to change all that. The comic book (manga) is far better then the animated series.

Berserk:
More blood then a bucker shop! Meet Gutz and his 7-foot long broad sword, watch gutz grow up and disemboweling people as a mercenary off war, say goodbye to Gutz as he fights his way straight into, though and out of hell. Good plot and after watching it you will awake up screaming in the night in a cold sweet for the next couple of weeks.

Big O:
Roger smith is a negotiator and when deals don’t go right he brings out a giant 100 foot tall robot named “Big O”. helped by batman’s butler and a android girl with the personality of a autistic goth roger fights evil and tries to find out the secret to why no one can remember what happened 40 years ago and before. Good all around anime but no blockbuster. http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_O_anime

Blood - The Last Vampire: (movie)
Incredible animation and graphic quality, it so beautiful it will make you cry! It basically Blade but with a female vampire hunter with a thing for swords.
http://www.bloodthemovie.com/front.html

Bubble Gum Crisis 2040:
It’s a sticky situation in 2040: robots made by a company with more power then Microsoft has now seem to go insane and kill people every once and a while (dam cheapy hardware!) several girls in stylish and revealing power suit wage vigilante war on the low quality machines. The animation is good and so is the plot and the occasional nude scenes are a big plus! http://www.titan.spaceports.com/~bgc2040/

Ghost in the shell - a masterpiece, a hacker called the puppetmaster is doing bad bad shit..(i forgot the storyline...forgive me..has bene a while since i saw the movie)...excellent movie with a excellent beginning scene....especially the scene where she melds in the with the background and completely disappears while the man looks on dazed.

Armitage III - Another excellent movie. Been a while since i have seen this one also. A killer is going around killing robots and it is up to a robot teenage cop and her humaniod partner to stop him..amazing animation to this day.

Metropolis - Classic style animation set against beautiful CG backdrops topped off with a politically charged storyline make for good watching....excellent animation.

No it is Armitage III..because she is a third level robot...she has another movie with a same name and TV episodes....

Noir

Just let me say if you haven't seen Noir you definately should real soon. Noir blends some good espionage with that anime luv of the girl who goes around and kicks everybody's but. You know what girl I am talking about, becuase you have probably heard so many people say they wish they were her or that you could date someone like that. Let me just say if you like some of the more popular anime's like Armitage III, Akira, DBZ or others you should definately check this one out.

I'll step out of alphabetical order here because I want to say some things about Noir.

I didn't like it. Noir can be summed up as 2-3 girls shooting pop up targets for 26 consecutive 30min episodes (and yes the third girl did use knives some of he time). The main character is a girl with all to clichéd amnesia of who she is and why she has super assassin skills. She also has the personality of an iguana! The worst part is the bad guys which are more pathetic then storm troopers! These bad guys also suffer from a law of anime not yet characterized: the one-shot-5-kills effect: when they get shot by a handgun to the chest they fly over backward instantly dead like their head was blown off with a bazooka! To top it off Noir fits some what to the dictionary definition of what Noir means check this out below:
http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary?book=Dictionary&va=film+noir
the music was good though. the plot fit the definition of Noir way to well. All in all I advice you to watch it and judge for your self.
