For all the complaints against Christian bigotry against Atheists, Atheists are the most intolerant, illogical, and violent beings on the planet. Who else would encourage the bombing of Muslim holy city Makkah, and of calling Muslims 'men living in caves with ugly women' (this can be found in the thread 'God= Allah is the true one and only God' [I forget the actual name])?
And who else supported the 9/11 attacks? Just as there are Muslim extremists who danced in the streets as people fell from those buildings before they collapsed, some Americans supported the bombing of Makkah, and funnily enough, the anti-Muslim diatribe coming out of the US are from the extreme right Christian groups are the people responsible for it.
Extremism and hatred exists on both sides of the Christian/Muslim divide. Blaming atheists is foolish.
I believe, along with the Muslims of the world, that the Atheists are far more of a threat than radical Christians will ever be to us.
Then you are blind. It is the radical Christians who are calling for death to Islam and calling all Muslims terrorists. It was a radical Christian who called for and ordered the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq and who ummed and ahhed at invading Iran. Not atheists.

No pet. The West does not support atheism or atheists. Have you ever seen a candidate in the US or the UK (for example) claim to be an atheist openly and freely? No. To do so would be considered political suicide. So no, we are not nurtured by the West. Quite the contrary.
