AGONY AUNTIE ToR- problem resolution :)

http://www.web-us.com/lucid/luciddreamingFAQ.htm#In what stage of sleep does Lucid Dreaming occur

This will explain what happens while conscious even though it is concerned with inducing the lucid state while asleep.

"2.4. How does the Wake-Initiated Lucid Dream (WILD) technique work?
It works by remaining conscious until you start dreaming. The Lucidity Institute also first presented this technique, but it is not easy if you don't have a clue what to do. But it is quite easy and effective if you do it right. Again, you need to sleep 5-6 hours before trying this. This is because you don't dream much the first 5 hours, it is mostly non-REM sleep. You enter REM a lot faster after 5-6 hours with sleep, and you don't go down to stage 3 and 4 as you do when you first go to bed. The problem is remaining conscious until your dream start. Many strange things may happen when you remain conscious until the REM-period starts. The first thing you see may be Hypnagogic Imagery. It is a pattern, like the one you see when you press your fingers against your closed eyelids. Remember that this is hypnotic, and getting too involved with them will induce unconsciousness. Just let it flow, don't get too involved and don't suppress them either. The next thing you may experience is Hypnagogic Sounds. It may be as real as the sounds you hear in waking reality, but they are nothing to be afraid of. It is a good indicator that the REM-period is right around the corner. Just don't let these sounds scare you. If you start to experience Abstract Thoughts, the logical part of your brain is falling asleep and you are not far from losing consciousness. You might be lying in bed thinking about a friend and the hypnagogic imagery starts and you see your friend's face. You have also worked a stressful day so you start to remember stocking the shelves at work. Soon you are thinking that you are putting cans of food on the shelves with pictures of your friend on them. All this might seems perfectly normal. But it's not logical. What you need to do is try thinking logical, do some math or start over again. Tactile Sensations can feel like you are paralyzed and high-voltage painless electricity is jolting through your body. You may experience these vibrations and find yourself leaving your body or having a Lucid Dream. But remember that all this is nothing to fear, it happens every night, whether you are consciously aware of it or not. Now that you know what you might experience when trying to consciously enter the REM-period there is another problem we need to conquer. And that is losing consciousness, a very common problem that is rather easy to overcome."

I often feel like I'm entering this state while awake, usually when tired, I sort of do begin to dream while awake.
I'm not sure that's exactly it, but maybe it is and I don't realize it.

I should rename this thread 'Challenge ToR' :(

wot no
...........'my girlfriend left me for an older dude'...
...........'caught girlfriend in lesbian romp and they invited my best male mate to join them and left me out!'.............. eh eh??

Couple of questions.

If we feel that you answered a question incompletely or inaccurately, could we throw down our two cents?

Where is the clit?

All fellow women, do not despair, there's hope yet.
Now if only there was a link showing how to use that information...Thor?

Hi ToR,
I have a serious problem...
Without giving out TMI, I work for a non-prof gov funded org. I have suspicions that my boss is misapropriating funds. Boss (I use the term boss as not to anounce gender) Also bends the rules to fit boss's needs. Boss does not follow the guidelines as to who the org is supposed to benefit. Rather boss adjusts to rules to benefit only the "desirable people" who do not need the program, but boss likes to rub elbows with. Boss bad mouth's boss's supervisors behind their backs. Supervisors thinks boss is great. I am boss's biggest asset. Boss keeps me in the shadows and takes credit for all of my hard work. Just this week boss asked me to give boss some extemely important information in regards to the submition of the quartly report. Then I find out that boss copied my information word for word on the report and claimed it as boss's own work. Boss is constanly stealing my thunder. Also talks about me to boss's supervisors and other people in the system and makes me out to be a fool which has prevented me from other job opportunities in the past. And then there is this. Boss recently hired boss's best friend of 23 years and boss's friend is now the highest paid employee in the building. Boss's friend has cause me some problems in the work place also. That's a whole other story. If I turn boss in then I run a risk of our program being shut down and I lose my job. I can't afford to lose my job. So there it is. I don't think you can really offer any advice but to tell me to suck it up and deal with it, but maybe I just wanted to blow off some steam.

Tough rap, not an altogether an uncommon story. Try to write yourself a really good CV and look for another job. Remaining in this one will not help you advance. Sometimes we need a 'push' to propell us to better things. Sometimes this 'push' will be in the form of a work conflict or disatisfaction etc. Take the opportunity to look for a new and better opportunity and don't be afraid to set your sights high. Inlcude on your Cv the credits that should have been awarded to you and try to have a referree who is someone from your company you can trust. Meanwhile without you , your boss will fall.

Meanwhile if you were in the Uk, you could also leave and claim 'constructive dismissal'. This is where you feel 'forced' to leave due to the problems arising. you have plenty of grounds. You may need proof though, but depending how long you have been there you could then claim compensation.

The advice in similar scenario in link above is

"One solution would be to put things down in writing, and also to arrange meetings to talk about specific proposals and ideas.

"

If you are the brains behind your bosses work, take heart, it means you can do his job! Maybe somewhere else though. Good luck.

Are you out of your friggin' mind?

Very bad advice. Your boss can quantify those credits as his own. Not only will you not find another job, you'll probably get fired from your current position and your boss will make sure you never get any recommendations if future prospective employers check up on you.

Additionally Pasquala

I myself was in similar situation twice as a matter of fact, in first istuation I explained the problems to the overall boss and said I was leaving because of them. I was offered a promotion and payrise and my manager was sacked. In the second situation my boss was the only boss so I applied for a new job with double the salary, got a colleague to act as referree and I explained the problems and reasons for leaving to new employer at interview stage so they understood re the dishonesty of my old boss etc. My skills were easily demonstrated and with the trial period you have every chance to prove yourself.

Boss is an industrial psychopath. Do poor work for boss, and let boss take the blame for it (if possible). Find work for boss on internet, then let boss take the blame for your plagiarism. If you're doing most of boss' work, you should be able to replace boss.

Now let me tell you what it is I have been doing about this situation.
First off I try to suttlely put little birdies in the ears of the people who it matters. This is a plus...it turns out that the my boss's supervisor is an acquaintance of my husband. This person in particular is quite fond of my husband. We all just recently found out this tidbit of information by acdient at a work related function where my husband escorting me. Now when the big boss comes to the work place, he makes friendly small talk with me. Then there is the paperwork. I started keeping a special file at home. I figure that things make more sense and are more powerful if they are in black and white. Everytime I knew for sure that my boss has done something wrong, I make a note of it and put it in my secret folder. Then when I see controversal paper work, I make a copy and put that in the folder also. I keep this folder at home. I know that my personal notes have no proof therefore most likely hold no legality but the copies of other documents and paperwork (cooked up numbers and budget report for example) speak mountains. I am just afraid that I could be the one getting in trouble for doing this. In addition, if the boss wants to blame someone for the misappropriating of funds, then he/she could easily plan it to look like it was me all along because he/she knows that I am the only other person in the office smart enough and capable enough to pull it off. I am sure that the boss has found a way to cover his/her ass. If not, then my boss is an ass. Oh too; by-the-way the boss's spouse is also a big wig on campus, however not directly involved with our org. Just a waywardly branch you may say. I did check out the sugested website. Thanks.

Yes boss is a psycopath. I can do the boss's work. The only problem is that I do not have the credentials so I do not qualify for the job. :(
