I thought I'd just make a note in case anyone else had this problem with CS3.
After loading CS3 you try to start Photoshop and you see this error:
"You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help."
To make a long story short. I ended up going here (after 3 hours of trial and error): CS3Clean Script and running a level 2 clean.
Reboot.
Then I reinstalled off the disk (I unplugged the internet connection just in case) and I initially only installed Photoshop and Acrobat. Have your 16 digit disk number ready because it asks for it at some point. Everything worked fine so I then reinstalled everything I wanted and started Photoshop and then Acrobat and everything is fine. I plugged in the internet downloaded the updates and it's working fine.
That seemed to fix it, for now anyway.
