While it's not directly stated, I think it's pretty obvious that you can blame this on the appalling state of user interfaces these days. I'm ashamed to realize how little work has been done to improve user interaction over the decades of computer use. It's an embarrassment to humanity (but them, humanity itself is an embarrassment, but I'll save that for another rant).
