# A Riddle

erm..

Well, if the table and the basket were in an orchard an apple could have fallen adding one to the number at some point after the first was taken.

good

good idea, but not correct.

Maybe there is an apple painted in the basket.

All the apples were real

There are 8 aple in the basket, and there is one aple out of the basket. One girl take the aple not from the basket.

Concider this

Nope there are only 8 apples, and they are all in the basket. Each of 8 girls takes one, yet there is one apple still in the basket? HOW?

Aha!

I think I know, since all 7 girls take apples and only one apple left in the basket, the last girl take the basket with last apple still in it

:bugeye: Ummm.... Am I right?

Perhaps this is an old puzzle...

How to cross a goat, a tiger, and a basket of grass over the river. There is a small boat to across, You only can bring one item at once. If you leave goat and tiger alone, to cross grass, the tiger will eat the goat. If you leave the goat an grass alone to cross tiger, the goat will eat grass.

[Goat] | river |
[Tiger] [You] |[Boat] | destination
[Grass] | |

How's the sequence to bring all to the destination safely?

Take the goat across leaving him on the other side.

Go back and get the grass taking it to the other side.

Bring the goat back with you to the side with the tiger.

Take the tiger across (assuming he doesn't eat your behind) and leave him with the grass.

Come back and get the goat, taking him across to the tiger and the grass.

YOU ARE RIGHT

SeekerOfTruth...

You're right Brings goat in the way back is the key. Most of people trapped in thinking one way direction.

anybody...

You can try this at home. You have 6 sticks of matches.
How do you arrange them to form 4 same triangles?
(overlapping sticks not allowed)

Concider this

Are we allowed to break a stick in half?

No. No break, no split, no overlap.
a little clue: you may glue them if you like

*puts hand up*

Ooh, ooh, i know! you make a pyramid out of them, one triangle on the bottom, three sides.

whatsherface,

YOU'RE ABSOULTELY RIGHT!

Anyone, here's another old puzzle:

There 2 villages. One village is home for honest, peace peoples. Another one with liars, love to kill peoples. You have to pass through one of those village.

You're in the middle of crossroad, but you don't know wich road to take. There one guy from one of the village. You also don't know from wich village he was.

.....................to liar killer
..................../
------[you]--[guy]-<
....................\
.....................safe path

what/how should you ask to the guy, to make him point to the safe path?

You ask him what an inhabitant of the other village would tell you to do.
Then do the opposite.

An oldie:

As I was going to St. Ives, I met a man with seven wives.
Kits, cats, sacks and wives,
How many were going to St. Ives?

And a little more difficult:

Cleopatra awakes in her bed and screams.
Mark Anthony is dead on the floor in a puddle of water surrounded by shards of glass.
How did he die?

Close. But not quite right . The guy should point to the right direction to aswer of your question. So... what is your question to him?
