The Shadow Over America

I think there is a very real possibility the Republican Party self-destructs this year.
This is the part I don't quite get:
That almost seems like Trump's point.
Remember that whole phantom candidate notion? I don't get how that would be working if it's about Hillary Clinton. But that's the thing, if he was just screwing with the GOP, this shouldn't be working. And Donald Trump is
destroying people. I mean, how out of hand does it have to get that I'm actually cringing in sympathy for
Chris Christie↱?
So it's not
really the phantom candidate thesis; but here is a guy rich enough to not care about anyone or anything
absolutely thrashing the political party that has been traditionally friendly to the business community. It's like he's punishing them for something.
So what do we have, then? The rise of the American supervillain? Or can we be a bit more realistic?
Did this black president thing just piss him off, and the GOP's inability to absolutely wreck Barack Obama thus warrants Trump's vengeance?
Are these just appearances because a rich freaking brat is pitching a tantrum at the end of the American psychomoral era by which his entire ambition is framed?
Maybe he's just, you know, a megalomaniacal rich celebrity looking to take his enterprise to the proverbial next level through some exploitation of personality cult?
But he's absolutely stomping the Republican Party into the dust.
I'm not even trying to delve into the daddy issues at this point.
No, seriously. But watch for that story, coming soon. Because that's the other thing: Maybe Trump wants to be the next Father Coughglin, which isn't quite right, but might actually make more sense than anything else.
This isn't just politics. This is personal and vicious.
