Yea I think he was young and associated humans with food. I think he could have been lonely too.

He probably has other raccoon family and friends. I am sure he must have been fascinated about you and checked you out to see if you were friendly and bearing food or not.
I moved away from him to the front yard and he came around also. He showed signs of having an appetite because as he was romping around me, he seemingly found bugs in the grass and ate them. When he went on the roof of the nearby house is when I quickly went into my house to get away.
There used to be more living spaces for company nearby, but they tore down an old house a few years ago, and this year an old wooden shed, both on different properties.

Been there done that. They are not good house pets. Almost impossible to train except for litter box. They are very good about using box or going out.I have a raccoon. It helps me with complicated mathematical problems......

A cat jumped out from near a bush, and my bike's front wheel almost ran over it the other day. It reminds me of how something, that looked like a cat, ran toward my bike a year or two ago and my pedal hit it on the head, scaring it away. It was nighttime both times.
