No, it is not garbage, it is the truth so stop lying to the world science, it is a logical impossibility for there to be no space pre-big bang.
FACT - Infinite by logical only possibilities.
You can logically and truthfully say the big bang was an event in space that started the expansion of matter into infinite space.
You can not say - the big bang starting from a singular point of nothing and space expanded .

When you realise that all is needed for entire creation is Hydrogen gas and centripetal force, and that is enough in an enclosed system, science starts to look ropey.
Pitifully true though, for all science knows by finite observation of the Universe, the scientists could be mimicking another scientists work of outside our finite view. We could be microscopic and would not know because we did the scaling of the finite universe.
In quantum physics scientists are always trying to make plasma ad even trying to produce particles, they mimic the universe and there is nothing to say that the universe is not mimicked by someone else.
The true truth of reality sucks, by finite view we have to partly agree with religion, I prefer my box and being inside a Nuclear power plant inside the reactor sounds quite reasonable to me.

Religion has as much premise for argument unless you can prove space outside of the expanding space. An expanding space science says is expanding into neither space or a solid because they say nothing pre-dates the big bang , not even space.
