How would the world function if every body would be an atheist ?
Well, first they would have to alter the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights and our money; they would take out "In God We Trust" and change it to "Accidents happen". They would have to take away all of the guns away from Americans (which would result in a lot of people getting shot). They would have to close all the churches, temples and synagogues. The thought police would have to show up and confiscate all of the bibles and religious books and have a great book burning of their own. Then they would have to line up Americans in the street, religious Americans, and shoot them in the head.

An atheist doesn't believe himself to be a god, arauca. You know, I see a number of fruitful discussions on here, and many well intentioned posts by atheists in particular, but it is as though you don't even read them. At the end of the day, you are stuck in your ways, it seems and you aren't remotely open to changing your viewpoint about atheism.

With a whole lot less ignorance, intolerance, bigotry, racism and conflict, just to mention a few of the negative aspects of religions.
If you notice on # 3 you will notice quotation marks , meaning that was posted by other person , were you participated and admired that post .
In your mind you probably think in term of present time , were the society is relatively mature and educated as many on this forum . Now think in the mind of about 500 to 700 back in time , if religion would not be there and the society would be atheist, could there have been any control over the society ? ( please don't bring out the inquisition ). What did Mao did he printed a booklet similar to a pryer book , and for any discussion they read Mao's passage . In Stalinist era they had an indoctrination union called Konsomol union from there come out the party elite,
Friend you just said no thing constructive .
My bad; I know the post you're referencing. lol
To your point: why was there a need to "use" religions in order to "control society?" Why couldn't there have simply been secular laws used to govern society in much the same way we do today? (I'm pleasantly surprised to see you admit that historically, religion was utilized to control societies.)

Is that what you really believe, Mazulu, or are you having another tantrum?
Much the same as it does now. Eventually belief systems of some sort would evolve, as would evolve opposing ones, as would evolve people driven by ideology, greed, or whatever, who would aspire to throw out the lot and start over ..
Here, study this poem by Yeats very carefully - it tells you all you want to know, though it's rather deep, and well beyond many folks paygrade ..
It is fine and dandy things will go and come back , but the problem will have those human that will live int that environment and survive.
I'm not sure what you just said.
And who are the people who take advantage of the masses? the educated, Normally I would say and uneducated person in a society will not be an atheist , Atheism starts as society matures an become educated , and so the morality and order starts to be questioned ,
Confirming as you said about recycling , but there is period of time in which human are going to live and they will have to endure , period of atheism or harsh religious indoctrination in the 1300
The irony is that during the days of the early Christian church, the church took advantage of the masses.![]()
