Black people did not fail to create civilization for lack of ability. There were a number of more prosaic reasons. Starting with agriculture, the second key technology on the path to civilization (language was the first), the north-south axis of their continent was a daunting impediment to progress. It's difficult to spread cultivated crops and domesticated animals across climate zone boundaries, so individual societies experimenting with Neolithic technology in narrow bands of sub-Saharan Africa had trouble reaching the "critical mass" necessary for the full-blown Neolithic revolution that occured in Asia.
By the time they managed to overcome this obstacle and get on the civilization track, the world's first four civilizations (Mesopotamia, India, China and Egypt--with an east-west axis connected to Asia) had a head start of several thousand years. They had already begun using "black" Africa as a source of slaves, trinkets and other resources, and had a vested interest in preventing any competing civilization from arising there.
Note that the Americas have the same troublesome north-south axis and it did indeed present the same problem to its indigenous people. Domesticated llamas did not spread out from Peru the way domesticated cattle, goats and horses spread through Asia and North Africa. Nutritionally worthless corn was the only grain throughout most of the hemisphere. There was no contact at all between the Aztecs and the Navajo, a mere 1500 miles away.
Despite this handicap, the people of the Americas still prevailed and invented civilization--in two separate places. But it took them until the first millennium BCE. The sub-Saharan Africans had no chance of duplicating this feat because the Greeks, Egyptians, Phoenicians and every other nation in Eurasia had already established their exploitive relationship by then.
White people who believe black people have inferior intellects because of their DNA do so because they choose to only study the history of white civilization and, therefore, have no appreciation of the conditions that prevailed in other parts of the world, nor of their own ancestors' role in maintaining the "inferiority" of sub-Saharan Africans. One would almost think they curtailed their knowledge on purpose.

if your actually above average in intelligence then all the reasons and answers are all very simple.
im only posting because some young impressionable and ignorant people who will have bigoted parents (be that black white or fluro green) will be unsure of these things while they are searching for answers,

an easy answer is not always the correct one, just the lazy one...

I recieved a note for infractions. I'm not sure what warranted the infraction. Anyway, the number one reason why people commit crime is circumstances, proven time after time by sociologists and psychologist. I'm not a big fan of the testerone factor because I am sure many people with high testerone levels are law abiding citizens. A lot of men can channel their testerone towards other things like working hard or even sports. No offence to any group of people, and these assessments are not aimed at any particular group of people or society. i

you have some valid points there, however there is a massive difference between genetic disposition and habitual nurture; Which, as a matter of fact, one should have found in this thread being the main stay of the debate, given the obvious requirements of psychology, sociology and biology which all contribute to the human condition.
i only hope racism toward light skinned people (Europeans and Caucasians [debatable name in genetic lineage given the Adam and Eve concept of genetic tracing] is as avidly reprimanded so as not to fuel the existing level of racism.
Fine. One can say habitual nature is a function of genetic disposition. However they are many ways to channel the use of one's disposition. The individual ususally comes to a delimmer when this channels are unavailable or limited. There are two basic reasons why people commit crime, which are intelligence and morality. People commit crimes because they think they can get away with it, and many more people would commit crimes if they had a guarantee they would. There are probably some people who are intelligent enough to get away with crime but are hindered by morality. These two facets have little to do with hormones but everything to do with circumstances- educational background, childhood type, speculative economic motives, e.t.c.
so everyone who has a bad childhood commit crimes and those with good childhoods don't commit crimes, uhuh. There are people who had ten times worse the childhood of jeffrey dahmer and some of them don't even go as far as to cheat on thier wife. Belief it or not, there are people who simply don't want to hurt other people or even animals and that's why they don't commit crimes. Opportunism is for people who don't care.
Here's an interesting experiment. Give black people already built countries like Haiti, Zimbabwe and South Africa and see what they do with it.

how do you stop the morons (bigoted and badly educated people) from turning a camp fire into a children's pantomime without brutal moderation that tends to negate freedom of speech ?
im kind of changing the thread a little but this is something i have never really understood. are teh answers to these questions known or are they just theory.
1) did human life start in one spot (like africa) and then spread out or did it appear in different places independently?
2) if it did start in one spot, then everyone was black right? then how did whites come about.
3) if conditions in africa were so bad, how come the black people there did not migrate like other societies did?

You should really do a search before you post. There are entire threads devoted to these questions.
- 1. Homo sapiens arose in Africa.
- 2. Skin color is one of the most ephemeral of traits and does not deserve the importance we place on it. A population that migrates to a region with more or less sunlight changes its level of melanin within a hundred generations. Look at the Bengalis and Lithuanians, close relatives who separated only about 2,500 years ago.
- 3. Why do you think people migrated out of Africa because conditions there were bad? Humans today often do things out of sheer curiosity and there's no reason to think our ancestors were any different. Travel and communication were exceedingly slow 70,000 years ago. Only the people in the extreme northeast corner of Africa walked into Asia. The rest of the population of the continent had no way of knowing this was going on.
